under her wing
giulia gwinn x spanish!reader , mentor!alexia putellas x spanish!reader
summary: your mentor is concerned about your relationship with your club teammate
warnings: three year age gap, reader is 22, a suggestive mention if you squint
Tumblr media
you never thought you would leave barcelona. it had been your home, your dream, the place where you trained at la masia for many years before debuting on the senior team.
in 2023, when you won the champions league.. you ran into a bit of challenges. something that would not be fixed without a club change.
so… when the opportunity at bayern munich came, you took it.
it was the right step for your career, but that did not make leaving any easier since alexia had been the hardest part of it.
she was more than just a teammate…she was the older sister you never had, the one who guided you when you first arrived at barcelona.
when you told her about the transfer that summer, she had nodded, understanding yet saddened.
“if it’s what you want,” she had said, her voice soft.
“but i’m going to miss you.”
you had adjusted to life at bayern faster than you expected. the girls welcomed you, the club supported you, and before long, you found yourself settling in.
you still talked to alexia, everyday even, you guys kept eachother updated about your lifes in germany and spain.
well, not too much, of course, since she was a rival now. it's just enough for her to know you were okay.
then there was giulia.
she had been your teammate first, someone you clicked with on the pitch almost immediately. you admired her leadership, her composure, the way she carried herself with quiet confidence.
she was 25, a captain-like figure at bayern, the leader of her national team after popp.
she was also the best thing to happen to you in a long time.
you and giulia had only been official for a month. it was new, fresh, but something about it felt so different from your past relationships. healthier and safer like you were with someone who truly saw you.
you had not told alexia yet…there had not been a right time, and honestly, you were not sure how she would take it.
now, in march, you were on national break, back in spain, while giulia remained in germany. it was the first time since getting together that you would be apart for this long, but you both promised to keep in touch.
and you did.
you were always smiling at your phone. always taking pictures of your food before eating. always stepping away to take facetime calls in the bathroom.
that last one had really set alexia off.
she was not going to ask what you were doing in there on the phone with giulia, but she had her suspicions.
now, the night before your match against portugal, she was going to get her answers.
misa and aitana had just left the hotel room when she turned to you.
“hey, y/n, don’t go to sleep yet. can we talk?”
you blinked, confused but nodding.
“of course.”
she sat on the edge of the bed, watching you carefully.
“are you dating someone?”
your heart nearly stopped.
“wh-wha-what? how do you know?”
she let out a small laugh, shaking her head.
“so i was right.”
you sighed, rubbing your face.
“was it that obvious?”
“very,” alexia said.
“you smile at your phone too much. you always take pictures of your food and the facetime calls in the bathroom? come on, y/n! you could at least wait until you got home to munich.”
you groaned.
“fine. yeah, i am dating someone.”
she tilted her head.
“who?”
you hesitated.
“giulia.”
her brows lifted slightly.
“giulia?”
“yeah, giulia gwinn. my teammate at bayern. defender for alemania..”
you nodded, bracing yourself for her reaction.
alexia knew giulia. she had played against her plenty of times, had seen her lead bayern with the same strength she had seen in other great captains like herself.
however, her expression shifted into something more thoughtful, almost concerned.
“hmm.”
“what?” you frowned.
she hesitated for a second before speaking.
“it’s not a bad thing,” she said slowly.
“i just… well… she’s older. not by much, but still… i just want to make sure you’re okay.”
you crossed your arms.
“do you think she’s too good for me?”
her eyes widened, shaking her head immediately.
“no! not at all. that’s not what i meant.”
“then what did you mean?”
she sighed.
“i mean that you’re 22. you’re mature for your age, but i want to make sure you’re making smart decisions and that you’re with someone who treats you well, who understands you.”
you relaxed slightly.
“giulia treats me really well, ale. better than anyone ever has.”
ale’s expression softened.
“that’s all i needed to hear.”
you felt the weight of her concern, the way she was looking out for you in the way she always had.
it was not about doubting you or giulia…it was about making sure you were happy. and you were.
before the conversation could settle, she smirked slightly.
“so… tell me more about this relationship.”
you groaned.
“oh god.”
“no, no, i want to know,” she teased.
“how did this happen? who made the first move? if i had to guess, it was her. there is no way your shy ass made any first move!”
you rolled your eyes, but a smile was tugging at your lips.
“oh shut up! i’ll tell you but only because you’re going to keep asking if i don’t tell you.”
and with that, you began to tell alexia the story of how you and giulia became girlfriends.
three months later.. the evening in valencia is warm, the sun just starting to set as you and alexia make your way toward the restaurant.
you’re not nervous about seeing giulia…you never are. she is your club teammate and girlfriend who you see everyday back at home. however, you are a little anxious about how this dinner will go.
alexia has been a mentor to you for years, almost like an older sister, and now she’s here to finally meet the woman you’ve fallen for.
“you look tense,” alexia says, nudging your shoulder.
“should i be worried?”
“no,” you sigh.
“i just want you to like her.”
alexia smirks.
“well, if she makes you happy, i’m already halfway there.”
you step inside the restaurant, immediately spotting giulia at a table near the window.
she stands when she sees you, her expression lighting up as you approach.
when you reach her, she greets you with a soft kiss to your cheek before turning to alexia and extending her hand.
“hallo, it’s nice to finally meet you properly, alexia,” giulia says, her voice warm.
alexia shakes her hand firmly.
“buenos dias, and same here. i’ve heard a lot about you.”
giulia chuckles, glancing at you.
“all good things, i hope?”
“mostly,” alexia teases, sitting down while looking at you beside her.
“i guess i’ll find out for myself tonight.”
the conversation starts light and familiar.. football.
soon enough, alexia shifts gears, watching giulia closely.
“so,” she says, swirling her water.
“what made you fall for her?”
you groan, burying your face in your hands.
“ale, come on!”
giulia laughs softly, completely unbothered. she looks at you for a moment, then back at alexia.
“it was easy,” she says simply.
“she’s loving and y/n is funny in a way that catches you off guard, and she’s so passionate about what she loves. she gives her whole heart to the people she cares about and i was able to learn that when she first came to munich.”
you blink, caught off guard by the sincerity in her voice.
alexia raises an eyebrow, clearly impressed.
“not a bad answer.”
“what about you?” giulia asks, tilting her head.
“you’ve seen her grow up. how has she changed?”
alexia hums.
“she’s always been talented, but when she first came to barça, she had this uncertainty about her. now, she knows who she is. she’s stronger, more confident… and she looks happy.”
giulia smiles.
“she makes me happy too.”
there’s a brief pause, something unspoken passing between them before alexia leans back.
“i like you,” she says finally.
“you’re different from the people she’s dated before.”
giulia lifts an eyebrow with a smirk, looking at you while she asks alexia,
“how so?”
alexia glances at you before answering.
“you’re stable. you know what you want. you’re not playing games and have goals.”
giulia squeezes your hand under the table.
“yeah i promise there are no games,” she says softly.
“just her.”
alexia watches the exchange, then nods in approval.
“good. because if you ever hurt her…”
“i won’t,” giulia cuts in firmly.
“i’d never do that.”
there’s another pause, then alexia smirks.
“then i have nothing to worry about.” she glances at you.
“you got a good one.”
relief floods through you, and you smile.
“i know.”

Home is, whenever I'm with you | Lena Oberdorf

Lena Oberdorf x german!bayern munich!reader
Summary: Lena suprises you with her move to your childhood club. To finally be with you properly.
Warnings: a bit of angst, fluff

✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Girl, I never loved one like you
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
You grew up in Munich. Everything you know is there. Your famil. Your friends. Your bestfriend, Sydney. Your club.... Everything you loved was in one place. Exept your home, your lover, Lena Oberdorf. She plays for Wolfsburg. That wouldn't be the problem, even trought its the rival, but Wolfsburg is too far away from Munich, to see each other more then once in a month. And its slowly infecting your realationship.
It's started when you both grow out of the honeymoon phase. That doesn't mean you're stopped being smitten about each other. But the distant made it worse. A 6 hours drive or a one hour flight. It started to come to much.
It wasn't because of the lack of trust you have for each other. You trust each other very much. But you missed the closeness, the cuddles or the kisses. The things you would only get, if you play each other or in the german camp. It was rarely that one come to visit the other. To caught up with training for your clubs.
So everytime the national break started, you follow each other like lost puppies. It's mostly Lena, who follows you everywhere. Her Wolfsburg teammates will tease all the time, when the break is going to start or gets closer. But she doesn't care. She only cares about being close to you.
But you follow her everywhere too. And your teammates tease you about that too. Like obi, you don't care either. You're just happy being with her again.
-
To the problem is only one solution. One has the move clubs. But you both are too stuborn.
"I'm not moving away, liebling. (Darling) I have everything here."
"I change would look on you, baby. You can't always stay in the same place your whole life." Obi argues back on a face time call. It wasn't a fight. More like a discussion, in wich you both bring the same arguments over and over again.
"You know i can't handle change. And it would be a change for you too."
"I know you can't. And i already had a change. I moved from Essen. There wouldn't be so much change. You know half of the from national and you got friends with Lynn."
You look away, to the wall, feeling defeated. "Ha Gotcha, Schatz. (honey)" Obi said happily. "If you move to Bayern, you can play with and see Lea more often." You knew what the Lea card would do. You know that Lena misses to play in the same team as Lea, like in Essen.
"Didn't you wanted to show me your new tattoo idea?" Obi distracts from the topic.
You knew Obi wants to distracts from the topic. She was a bad loser and she knew how right you were, Obi just didn't want to admit that. So you played along.
"What do you think of something like that?" You showed her a page from your sketchbook.
Since then none of you dared to bring up the topic again. In the meanwhile Obi has gotten an offer from bayern munich. She didn't know what to do with it. Should she tell you? Should she ignore it? These question were toturing her mind.
-
Her solution: She's going to ask on national break what you would say if she got an offer from your beloved club.
But unfortunately the right time wouldn't come to Lena. Everytime she was close of telling you something happened. So she finally decide to say it to you no matter what.
She walked into the chill room, wich she knew you mostly are. You were there but you talked with Sydney. She didn't mean to overhear, but she stayed as she heard her own name out if your mouth.
"I love Lena, but i don't know how long it's going to work" Obis face fell. She doesn't want you to think like that. She wants to be with you forever. With sad face she walks away. She talks to you after your conversation with Sydney. But she stopped as she heard Sydney speaking.
"Don't say stupid shit like that. It's going to work out. You both are so smitten and follow each other like lost puppies. It makes me love sick. It's getting to the point to become disgusting."
"Yeah because your Single" you chuckle and on Obis face a smile grows.
"But i'm serious. If you leave, then there would be nothing much different. You still have me and Klara. We still be friends and pull pranks on camp or annoy Laura. Okay? You still got us and the team. We're a big family." Sydney hugs you.
'That's why' Obi realized. You're scared that if you move, your friends will turn their back on you. Obi walked away with smile. Knowing what she's about to do, calling her agent.
-
You were more then suprised as Lena said she will be visiting for a few days, but gadly take it. With Lena being in Munich you were happier. Sydney and Klara took notice of it and asked themselves why. But they got the answer, when Lena picks you up from training.
"Hope it wasn't too boring, being alone." You kissed Obi. After you two broke apart, you hugged her. Behind your back Sydney, Klara and Georgia made gagging faces. Lena rolled her eyes at them.
"No it wasn't, Liebling" It really wasn't. It was exhausting. She was talking with the club, her agent and the Bayern coach. All to negotiate her move to Bayern Munich.
-
The day she signed the contract she had mixed feelings. The tought of leaving Jule behind haunted her. But the blonde told her to go, to get her girl. It made Obi feel a bit better about it, but not fully. The other side was excitment. To be near you. To kiss you everyday. To cuddle with you. To cook with you. To do everything with you.
-
Before the national camp in february the romurs of Lenas move spread over. You saw it too, of course. You didn't know how to feel. There was hope, but you knew to not trust rumors. And Obi wasn't a help either. She only said that she didn't know how or why there are rumors. It broke her heart to see your face fell, just to cover it up quickly with a smile.
-
On the 14th february her move to Bayern will be officinal. She came to munich for the day, because of valentines. She knew you had a came on the evening, so she took you on a date for lunch. The whole day you weren't allowed to look on your phone. You wondered why and asked her. She only told you it would ruin her suprise.
After lunch in your favourite restaurant she took you to your favourite park, in wich you finally were allowed to look on your phone. You looked confussed at her but did anyway.
"Now go on insta"
"Obi what have you done?"
"Nothing" she smiles at you.
You looked on your phone your confussed look turned into shock. You looked up at Obi, who smiled slyly at you. "Suprise?"
"You fucking idiot. I love you" You run to Lena and hug her. "But why would you do that? You didn't had to"
"I know. But i love you. And Bayern didn't Sound that bad." With that she kisses you. Happy play with you next season and to in with you

Let the sun shine for a last time
a/n: hello...
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ewa Pajor x Léon!reader; VfL Wolfsburg x reader
Summary: Ewa last game for Wolfsburg [in the same universe as 'Ray of sunshine']
Type: Fluff
Warning; use of Google tranlsate for Polish and Spain like usual so let me know id there's mistakes
word count: 2332
-------
Things were strange. Well, not really. It was just the end of the season. This time of the year always seemed rushed. You usually didn't really feel that, but this time it was different.
All started nearly before the final of the cup. It was not a big deal, and you were confident in your victory, even if it was against Bayern. But this year it was different. It was not only for the club this time.
After nine years in the club, things were about to change, and you finally started to process it at the end of the away game against Werder when you saw Ewa crying against Alex.
Your teammates could see that something was bothering you at the end of the game but didn't say anything. It was not really a surprise that your wife would leave the club at the end of the season, but it seems to be only official after her announcement on social media.
Among all the fans thanking your wife for her service at the club and wishing her good luck for the next step, some were really asking themselves how you were doing knowing that you extended your contract with the German club last season.
And that was a great question. How were you doing? Well, it wasn't a surprise that you didn't seem the same.
You woke up before Ewa; it was a sunny day, and the temperature was also good, but you didn't feel right. You sat on the edge of your bed, scanning the room, trying to process how this would affect your life here, even if you knew that nothing would really change.
Lost in your thoughts, you were oblivious to your wife, who was searching you in her half-sleep state, wiping her arm everywhere on your side of bed before finally lifting her head when she didn't find you. "What are you doing?" she mumbled through tiredness. When you didn't reply, she finally decided to sit up, brush the remnants of sleep in her eyes, and wrap her arm around your chest before her head found a place on your shoulder. "Hi, are you okay?" she asked, finally catching your attention this time.
"Yeah, sorry, I just spaced out." You replied.
"I can see that." She waited a moment, comfortably pressing against you, to think about moving. "I love you, you know that?" She asked out of the blue, making you look at her.
"Yes, of course, and I love you too."
"I know, I just wanted to remind you of that. I don't know what's going on in your mind, but I can see that you're not yourself." She finished her sentence by leaving a soft kiss on your neck and gently locking her hands with yours.
"I think you're still tired, mi amor, you're talking nonsense." You tried to brush it off, even if you knew she could see through any of your masks.
The striker didn't talk further and just stayed like that for another fifteen minutes until you needed to use the restroom.
A few hours later, the brunette was almost dragging you into the changing room with all your teammates already there. Like expected, she was immediately circled by some teammates.
Even if you knew that nothing would change between you two, you couldn't help but notice the little change from the last few weeks. Like right now. Since the day before the final of the pokal, Ewa has become more 'intimate' with you around everyone.
Walking hands in hands, sitting on her laps, calling you sweet names, or even dropping some discreet kisses. Of course she already did things like that before, but it became more frequent, and she didn't even hide it from your teammate.
Don't get it wrong, you liked that more than anyone else, but it also felt like she was trying to make up for her choice.
After letting go of her hand, you found your place next to Lena. The midfielder greeted you with a tight hug, making you laugh. The German player only let you go before Do was the new one to catch you between her arms.
"Oh, come on, girls, you already want to make me cry?" You said earning some laughs from the two players.
"I'll miss you." The Dutch woman told you sincerely. After five years in the club, the two of you grew pretty close, almost like sisters.
"Don't miss me too much, because I don't think I'll be able to see you as much as I want."
"Will you come to see me?" The young player asked, making you roll your eyes.
"Come on, even if I don't, you'll be the one who comes back here. You can't live without me." You joked.
"Okay guys, don't bother my super defender, I need her total focus for the game." Merles said coming out of nowhere.
"Don't worry, I'm always focused." You reassured her.
After getting changed, it was time for the last warm-up for the last game of the season. Warming up with the defender and some midfielders, you were stuck with Do and Lena, who didn't stop to tease you about the heart eyes you gave to your own wife.
Back in the changing room, you changed for the green kit, and immediately after that, Ewa somehow just appeared next to your cubby and was determined to stay there even when the coach came for the last tactical talk.
For her last game, the Polish player was designed to be the captain today, which meant that she was leading the team out the tunnel, forcing you to stay behind. You seemed excited; at least that's what a lot of people would think if they saw you right now. Honestly, you were nervous, and Alex could see that, so she just kept her hands on your shoulder, trying to ease your mind, which was usually Ewa's special mission.
"Don't worry, it will be alright." That was the last thing the tall player told you before you came out of the tunnel.
AOK Stadion, May 20th. For maybe one last time, you were looking at the woman wearing the number '9' on her green and white shirt with her back facing you, waiting for the whistle. And when it comes to time, it seems to go so quick and so slow at the same time.
Slow because, after only a halftime, you were leading 4-0 with a hat trick from your wife. But quick, because after only a few minutes back for the second half, you understood that it was maybe the last minutes that you shared with her in front of this public, wearing this kit in the city that you called home.
When Ewa got subbed off, time seemed to finally go with you, and the end of the match was a big rush but allowed Wolfsburg to win 6-0.
The final whistle and the tension left your body. A pretty big victory for the last of the season. You were caught in your celebration with Nuria and Fena, so you were surprised when you were spinned around by a very happy brunette, and her lips crashed on yours immediately.
At first, you were shocked, but you quickly forgot that and reciprocated every feeling she put on that kiss. It was a special one. It was a mixture of the goodbye kisses she gave before leaving for international duty, with the make-up kisses you exchanged after any arguments, and with the celebration kisses that you used to exchange the night after you lifted a trophy. The sensation was exceptional, almost making you nostalgic for the first time you kissed her or when you did to officialize your marriage.
A lot of sheering could be heard around you. Well, it was very hard to tell where it was from because it seemed like the whole stadium was screaming for you.
"Wow." was the only thing you were able to say after you pulled apart. Ewa was blushing in front of you, even if for some people it just looked like she was just exhausted from the run she made to reach you.
She didn't wait until you said anything else before locking you in a tight hug. "Kocham Cię. Wiem, że już to wiesz, ale naprawdę chcę, żebyś wiedziała, że cokolwiek się stanie, nic. I mówię, że absolutnie nic nas nie rozdzieli. (I love you. I know that you already know that, but I really want you to know that whatever happens, nothing. And I say absolutely nothing would drift us apart.)" She rushed out of her mouth in her native language, making you furrow your eyebrows a little. But she couldn't have to say anything else before she was required to receive her top goalscorer trophy.
You followed her, letting her pose with the trophy, until she turned around and made her way back to you. "I love you," she repeated, "and thank you for all these years." You didn't reply 'I love you' back before the team almost crashed against you and your wife.
The rest of the celebration was very good, and back at your home around 11 p.m., you were both really exhausted. Your hands were full with all the presents from the club and the fan for departure when your phone rang in your pocket.
You groaned from exhaustion, of course, but also irritation. Thankfully, the striker carefully dropped everything and picked up your phone for you.
"Hola Mapi, ¿cómo estás?" You heard your wife ask while you were finally freeing your arms.
"Oh, muy bien, gracias. Veo que tus clases de español finalmente empiezan a dar sus frutos. (Oh, very good, thank you. I see that your Spanish lessons finally start to pay off.)" Your sister replied, making you a little proud.
"Y/n is a very good teacher when she wants to." You rolled your eyes at that but decided not to comment.
"Talking about her, where is she?"
"I'm here," you said, appearing just beside Ewa, not forgetting to give her a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Look at how cute you are. Look, Ingrid, aren't they cute?" The defender asked her girlfriend.
"Yeah, very, but you should check on Instagram." The Norwegian said making you a little confused.
"Yes, that's why I called you." Mapi seemed to miraculously remember something very important. "Check on what I sent you on Instagram." Unfortunately, you couldn't ask more questions before she hung up.
You were both perplexed about that but decided to check it out after a well-deserved shower. After that, you were on your bed while Ewa was drying your hair when you remembered what your sister said.
You picked up your phone and went on Instagram. You didn't bother to check the message you got, only Mapi's one, and let's just say that you were surprised. The other woman peeping at your phone from your back immediately stopped what she was doing after she saw what your sister sent you.
"What is that?" It was not a question, but more something she said at the moment because she didn't know what else to say. Because she already knew what that was, and she knew that she was responsible for it.
Here in front of you, a post that consisted of only one thing: the kiss that your (actually shocked) wife gave you on the heat of the moment after your game.
It was not a secret that you two were married, so it wasn't really surprising when people saw you kiss each other. But there you were both now, almost everywhere on the woso side of Instagram, kissing shamelessly your wife in front of everyone.
But the quality of the photo was actually not bad; even better, it was a very professional quality, which made you think about something.
"I want to frame it." You announced, making Ewa's jaw drop.
"What?" She asked even if she clearly understood.
"I want to frame it in the biggest format possible. I'll hang up the TV in the living room."
"No, moja kochana (my love), you can't."
"Why?"
"Because I don't want to have a huge picture of me, lips locked with yours, hanging up to my TV in my living room or anywhere in my house."
"But we have an exact picture of you, lips locked with mine next to our bed!"
"It was from our wedding, kochanie (honey)!"
"And?"
"What you mean, 'and?', I don't want to, end of the discussion." She finished her sentence by leaving the hair dryer next to the bed before she lay in it. "Turn off the light when you have finished."
You didn't say anything else. You liked the post. You got up to turn off the light, joining her on your bed.
"Know what? I'll miss this." You gently wrapped your hand around her.
"What?"
"Our arguments, our little debates, and everything else."
"You sound like I'll leave and never come back."
"Will you?"
"If you ask me, why not?"
"Because we both know that you have so much to accomplish somewhere else."
"But that doesn't mean that I'm happy to leave you." She finally turned to face you. "We can't stay away from each other too long. Sometimes I'll come to see you here, and sometimes you'll come to see me."
"And let's not forget the Champions League." You added.
"Yep, let's not forget that." For a moment, you just looked at each other before she broke the silence again. "You know, I said I didn't want it in a big format above the TV, but we can frame it and put it next to our wedding one." She suggested making you smile. "Or, we can frame it, and I'll keep it with me while you keep our wedding one carefully here."
"Whatever you decide, I'll go with it." You replied very enthusiastically. "Kocham cię (I love you)."
"I know, and Te quiero también (I love you too)"

Public? // Felicitas Rauch
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request. Hope you like it:)
The tension was thick at home.
Felicitas loved you.
You loved Felicitas.
But that didn‘t change the fact that there was this strange atmosphere ever since the two of you had one of your biggest fight ever.
-
At the age of 15, Feli and you met.
At the age of 16, she asked you out on a date.
After several dates, you asked you to be her girlfriend - it took you some weeks to build up the courage to do so.
At the age of 23, Feli asked you to marry her.
At the age of 24, the two of you were happily married.
Both of you seemed to be happy - you were, but something in Felis mindset shifted which had led to your argument.
She hated that she couldn‘t wear her ring.
She hated that nobody knew she was married.
For the world, you didn’t exist - that‘s how many people knew about you.
You‘re her wife.
She wanted to show everybody how much in love she was with you.
She wanted to post pictures with you,
she wanted to hold your hand in public,
she wanted to be seen with you.
You‘re everything to her and nobody knew about it.
-
It started as a simple conversation.
"Liebe, can we talk about something?" the German asked, taking a seat in front of you. You looked up from your laptop, putting the pen down, so your complete attention was on her. "Is everything alright?" you questioned, a big frown displayed over your features. It was never a good sign to start conversations like that, "what‘s wrong?"
The defender took a deep breath before she answered straightforward, "be my wife." which came out ruder than intended.
Confused, you looked at her, "I am"
"You‘re not" she declared, her jaw tense.
"What‘re you talking about?" you closed your laptop, "does that mean nothing?" wiggling with your ringfinger.
"No" she didn‘t want to get mad but slowly anger started to float through her body, all her emotions discovering the surface, "because I can‘t wear mine!"
Taken back by her outburst, you matched her tone, "that‘s not my fault! You‘re the athlete, not me"
"You wanted us to be private!" her voice raised, "I could‘ve easily taped my ring" with her finger at the brick of nose, she tried to calm down. That’s not the way she wanted it to turn out - not at all.
"I want to be public" she stated, this time a much softer voice talking to you. The voice you could listen hours to.
"I don’t!"
With her voice level back angry and heart hurt, she growled, "Why not?!"
"I don‘t want to"
Your answer only made her angrier as she stood up and walked around the kitchen counter to pour herself a glass of water.
"That‘s not a reason!"
"You know what?!" leaving the chair, you gathered your notes, "I don‘t have to explain myself"
Feli could only watch as you took your laptop and walked away, in the direction of the front door.
Quickly, she followed you, stopping you in your tracks as she grabbed your wrist, her touch gentle, "Where are you going?"
"Away from you!" you felt so hurt, the insult of not being her wife. Was this whole marriage a joke to her?
"Y/n" she started, the hurt on your face visible for her, "please-"
"No, i got the message" you grumbled, "it‘s yours" angrily you took of the ring, slamming it down on the shelf.
Maybe it was childish to take off your ring but you felt helpless. She had been your girlfriend for many years and your wife for a few years, but never, never ever had she hurt you as much with a statement as she just did.
You left shortly after, Feli standing in the hall with an empty expression on her, your ring between her fingers.
She fucked up. She really did and she knew.
-
It was dark outside, 10 minutes before midnight and you still weren‘t home which made her anxious. The varnish of her nails was peeled off, her leg hobbling up and down and her mind racing with worst case scenarios.
Liebe❤️
When are you coming home?
please let me know
Even though you were hurt, you replied to her text. You hated it not reply to her texts and you could imagine how she was feeling, you hated it too when you didn’t know when she was coming home.
You
one hour.
Feli was laying in bed, anxiously watching the clock in your bedroom as she waited for you to come home. There was no way she would fall asleep before she knew you were safely at home.
Exactly an hour later, you opened the front door, walking into your home, eyes puffy and red. The defender didn’t leave the bed, she didn’t try to approach you nor talk to you. She wanted to let you be. Yet that didn‘t stop her from hoping you would join her in bed.
And you did.
Wordlessly you laid down, your back facing her. The German felt her heart sink, usually you would always cuddle her - she really had fucked up.
It took you about 20 minutes before you fell asleep, your body physically exhausted, Feli still wide awake. As your soft snores filled the room the defender was quick to decide what her next move would be. She couldn’t sleep without holding you, so that‘s what she did. Her arms snuggled around waist as she pulled you close, your body relaxing in her touch. She would make it up to you - that was a promise.
-
You woke up alone in bed, the wolfsburg player nowhere to be seen. Making your way out of bed, dressed in a oversized shirt and shorts, you walked in the kitchen, the smell of pancakes hitting your nostrils, "good morning" you muttered as you rubbed your eyes, taking on seat at the bar stool.
"Hey" the german whispered as she took you in, "I made you breakfast" she handed you the plate which was filled with pancakes.
"Thank you"
It was silent for a few moments.
"I‘m sorry" your wife started, "I’m so sorry. You‘re my wife no matter if the world knows that or not- I shouldn’t have yelled at you and I’m so sorry for insulting you like that" she inhaled sharply, turning to you as she gently interwined your fingers, "I love you. You are everything to me"
"Your comment hurt me" you whispered, your head falling against her shoulder as she instantly wrapped her arms around you. Silent tears streamed down your face as she mumbled sweet nothings in your ear.
"I‘m so sorry, baby" multiple kisses were pressed against your head, "I don’t wanna be public if you don‘t want to. I want you to be happy"
Her hands cupped your cheeks as she made you look at her, her eyes determined with her statement, "I love you"
-
"Can you tell me why you don‘t want to be public?" she asked one evening as she held you in her arms with the tv playing in the background. Her tone was gentle, understanding and as if she would accept every answer, she just had to know an answer.
"I like privacy"
And even though, it was indeed true that you enjoyed your privacy, the real reason to stay in secret was because you were afraid. You feared the public and their words. You didn‘t want your relationship to break down because her fans didn‘t like you or your looks or the fact that you don’t play nor enjoy football.
Just you and her.
-
The topic wasn‘t brought up again yet you could see how it killed Feli from day to day, how much it hurt her to take off her ring every morning. Her eyes stopped shining the way they used to, her smile didn‘t reach the corner of her eyes anymore - the light was missing.
She loved you, she really did and she still treated you like a princess but not wearing her ring, not having the opportunity to show you off left her heart in pain.
Which is why you did what you did one day after her training.
The defender came home with a smile tugged on her lips as she told you about her day.
After her story about the day, "I‘m going to shower, baby" she stated, pressing multiple kisses to your cheeks before she walked towards the bathroom, her phone resting on the kitchen counter.
When you heard the shower, it was safe to say that she wouldn‘t come out of the bathroom for at least 20 minutes.
Snatching her phone from the counter, you made yourself comfortable on the couch. Feli never had a problem if you take her phone, she had nothing to hide and was fully convinced that you would never control her which was true. Never ever would you stalk through her phone or anything, most of the time when you used her phone was for music, hay day or when she asked you to reply to someone. You trusted each other blindly and more than anything, so opening instagram, you did the thing that made her happy, hopefully.
You revealed your marriage with a simple post.
Within seconds her phone blew off, notification after notification.

When Feli left the bathroom, you were happily cooking some dinner as music played softly in the background. You swayed with the beat, humming along the lyrics as you prepared your meal.
In the meantime Feli walked in the living room as she heard her phone ring constantly. What was happening?
And then she saw it.
Over a thousand notifications on instagram.
Why?
Your post.
"Liebe!" she yelled while she quickly entered the kitchen.
"Ye-" you‘re cut of as lips were pressed against your own, strong arms wrapping around your waist.
Feli kissed you with every inch of love in her body,
she kissed you with so much happiness,
she kissed you with a new found passion.
When air became a problem, you pulled away, the defender chasing after your lips for multiple pecks.
"What was that?" you asked, completely out of breath, lips swollen and chest heavily rising and falling.
Replying with "A thank you" she cupped your cheeks, thumb softly caressing it, "for the- that the world knows I‘m married and happily so"
your cheeks turned red, her gaze so intense as it was filled with love. She smiled brightly at you, a smile that reached the corner of her eyes.
"I‘m sorry for being so secretive, I was afraid of the outcome- the media and fans but I’m done with it. I love you and it‘s time for everyone to know" you stated in a firm voice, ready to fight the world if needed.
"I‘m so in love with you"
-
Since that day, there hasn't been a day where Felicitas took off her wedding ring. In games, she would tape it up, the same as in training. It was her good luck charm and everybody should know it.

are you flirting with me?
lena oberdorf x reader
Tumblr media
“Pick up” You grumble, the facetime ringtone going on longer than you liked.
“Hey baby” She spoke, your favourite sound. “Sorry I left you hanging, my mom was on the phone.”
You bite you lip softly, fiddling with the drawstring on the hoodie you were wearing, her hoodie.
“Don’t worry, your here now. I missed your face.” You smirk softly.
“Are you flirting with me Miss Y/L/N” She gasps.
“Maybe I am, Miss Oberdorf.”
-
The next morning, your alarm wasn’t much help.
“Y/N!!” Gio shouts, barging through the door. “Wake up!” She throws a pillow at you.
“Fuck Gio” You groan, throwing the pillow back but completely off target.
“Spent too much time on call to you lover girl eh?” She teased.
You stuck your finger up at her then flopped your head back onto your pillow.
-
“What are you moping about?” Gio slumps beside you, trying to look at your phone to see who you were messaging.
“Hmm, nothing.” you quickly turn your phone off, not wanting her to see. “Why are you still up anyways, you said you were going to sleep.” You raise an eyebrow slightly.
Gio shrugged. “Got bored, came to make a drink.”
You fiddle with your phone case, eager for your own space to continue your message conversation.
“I went back to claim what was mine.” Gio looks at you.
“You what?” You look at her, confused.
“You used my face wash.. I just went to get it back. And i saw the polaroid on your cabinet.”
“Of….” You tried to act dumb but you knew exactly what she was talking about.
“You and.. Lena” She looked at you with an expression to tell you that you can let her know anything.
“Hmm” You hummed, blushing slightly.
“There was one of you kissing. Are you guys.. you know”
“Yes, well done detective Gio. Lena and I are dating.” You huff, admitting defeat.
“How long?”
“A year”

I miss you ❤️
You
Miss you too pretty girl. Hope your flying over for my game at the weekend. I know your schedule is free 😉

I’ll see what I can do x
-
You walked through the tunnel and out onto the pitch, standing beside Caitlin and Rafa as the UWCL anthem played throughout Emirates Stadium.
Wolfsburg had been knocked out of the competition at the quarter final stages by Lyon which meant Lena was able to fly over for your semi final game against Barcelona.
You didn’t know where about she was sat but you knew she was in the stadium. A member of the coaching staff managed to get you a couple tickets for the boxes for Lena and her friends.
When the whistle blew you played you absolute heart out. A sold out stadium against the best in the world and you dreams in the champions league all fell on this game.
You managed to score yourself a goal at the 27th minute but the enjoyment had been zapped right out of you when Aitana got an equaliser at the 34th.
Jonas’ half time team talk was simple. Keep possession and attack on the left, their weakest side.
You got out again, the ref blew the whistle and the second half began.
Foul after foul and finally the ref was on your side, giving Arsenal a free kick.
Frida took it and you got your head on the end, getting it past Paños.
You started celebrating, jumping onto your teammates, making it 2-1 at the 90th minute.
The ref blew the whistle and you looked up, confused. Then you felt your heart drop. 3 letters on the screen. VAR
“What!” You looked around, Lia’s hand falling onto your shoulder.
Lena was up in the crowd, her phone in hand and taking a video of the scene in front of her. When the ref confirmed the goal, you ran round the pitch. She smiled to herself, your jersey under her jumper.
“Well done, my girl.” She whispered under her breath.
-
The full time whistle blew and you had beaten the spanish side. You did a lap of the pitch and signed a few things for some fans.
A young boy asked for your shirt but you had to tell him you’d promised it to someone else. That someone in the crowd too.
You made your way up to the box Lena was in with Jule, Jill and Lynn.
“MVP MVP MVP” They started chanted.
You blushed and told them to shut up, embarassed as everyone looked at you.
You slipped your arms around Lena’s waist and buried you head into her neck. She whispered in your ear. “You are amazing, talented, a special girl.”
“Are you flirting with me, Miss Oberdorf.” You giggled softly.

always lucky to have you ➹ l. oberdorf
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: lena oberdorf x reader
summary: you were supposed to have lunch with your girlfriend, but you had an emergency case—so, she decides to visit.
Tumblr media
you sighed as you entered your private office, being the head prosecutor of the law firm was challenging especially with your young age.
you were quite knowledgeable, graduated from yale university when you were just 18. law school was quite a struggle, you were younger than your peers which made it quite easier for them to have you run their errands.
but you had graduated at the top of your batch, finishing as summa cum laude, the highest honor. rather than being a prosecutor in the states as you had dreamed of, you returned to germany—your home country.
you were feeling a bit home sick, being in a new environment can give you that feeling. but it was one of the best decisions that you had ever made.
because—that’s where you met lena, the one who holds your heart so dearly. you remember the first encounter, your childhood bestfriend klara had begged you to watch a football game.
bayern against wolfsburg, when the game had come to an end—you were simply waiting in the crowd. klara wanted to get signatures from the players, and that’s how you caught her eye.
you hummed a small tune, the drumming of your fingers were heard along with it. you had missed the lunch date that you had planned, it wasn’t your fault as there was an emergency case that you had to take on.
“geschäftig, wie immer liebe. [busy, as always love.]” you heard your lover’s voice as you turned to the door, only to see her looking at you with a soft smile.
she held certain things, as you stood up to help her—but she shrugged placing it on your table that didn’t have documents all over.
“lch verstehe, dass sie beschäftigt sind, also habe ich beschlossen, lhnen das mittagessen mitzubringen. [i understand that you’re busy, so i decided to bring you lunch.]” you had hummed as you gave her a soft smile, despite her busy schedule she still made time for you. you had always done the same, however this case was extremely important.
lena had properly looked at your attire, you were clad in the prosecutor gown, the black coat had matched it—but you wore a white tie. but her eyes were on the two rings that you wore, it was hers.
“gib es zu, liebe. [admit it, love.]” you heard lena teased, as you had opened the lunch box that she had prepared for you.
“was gibt es da zuzugeben, baby? [what’s there to admit, baby?]” you slightly teased, as lena felt a bit flustered—she always loved it when you called her that.
“du liebst die ringe, die ich trage. [you love the rings i wear.]” lena hummed as you softly nodded.
“that i do, now will you take a seat and join me love?” you chuckled as she took the seat in front of you, the whole lunch break—you both had talked about your careers.
lena had occasionally fed you as you did the same thing. despite her being the older one in the relationship, as you were just a month younger than her—she would always love it when you’d take care of her.
a perfectly paired match, as klara would say. when one goes, the other one follows. you both had a habit of being one step behind another.

Well Shit (Lena Oberdorf x Reader)
Tumblr media
Hellooo people!!! This was requested by the amazing, lovely, (almost) perfect @wosofanstuff! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY @ares3460!!!!!!!! I LOVE MY GRANDMA. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this one. As always any feedback good or bad is welcomed! Have fun!
Word Count: 865 (let's ignore this)
Lena observes as you go through finishing drills, dribbling around the cones seamlessly and completing a give-and-go with Lynn flawlessly. To anyone else, it would have looked like Lena was watching you because of your skills. Instead, she was admiring how beautiful you looked, how your hair fell just right over your shoulders, how your eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly in concentration as you controlled the ball, how your legs flexed when you kicked the ball, how the sun shined onto your face making you look ethereal. Yeah, it was fair to say that Lena was whipped. Luckily, you had been dating for a little over three months now. The German midfielder had no idea how she managed to convince you on a date, but by some miracle of God, she did. No one knew that you were together, both of you agreed that it would be too much stress on the relationship if the team knew. You loved them to bits, but sometimes they could be the nosiest people ever.
“Obi?” A voice breaks her out of her trance.
“Huh?” Jule just chuckles at the confused look on the young German’s face.
“I know Y/N is an amazing player but we have to go do media,” she tells her friend.
“Oh, yeah, okay,” Lena’s cheeks heat up at being caught staring at you. Thankfully Jule just thought she was watching because you were good.
Later that night, you’re at your apartment when your phone dings from an incoming text.
Obi💚
Can I come over?
Of course xx
Be there in 5
Sure enough, a knock drew you away from the kitchen five minutes later. When you open the door you’re met with your girlfriend in an oversized hoodie and two cans of Fanta in hand. Fully opening the door so she can walk inside, you watch as she expertly moves around your home, proving how much time she spends there.
“What are you making?” She asks, gesturing to the kitchen.
“Spaghetti. Have you eaten yet?” You say heading back to check on the pasta sauce.
“No.”
“Okay, it should be ready in like five minutes,” you wander back to the living room to see your girlfriend already setting up a movie on Netflix.
The movie plays in the background as you eat your dinner, with light conversation continuing throughout the night. When the movie ends, Lena picks up the dirty dishes and begins to clean the kitchen. You sit on the island watching her. How one person could be so perfect you have no idea.
“You’re staring,” Lena says with a smirk. You roll your eyes, a blush creeping up your neck.
“No, I wasn’t,” you say defensively. Her smirk only gets wider as she raises her eyebrows. God, how you wanted to just kiss the smirk right off her face.
“Sure, schatz.”
“If anyone is staring it’s you,” you say, deciding to turn the tables on her.
“What?” She asks confused.
“I saw you staring at training today, you were practically drooling.” Now it’s Lena’s turn to blush.
“Shut up,” she mutters and throws the towel she was using at you. You laugh, music to her ears. A smile works its way onto her face and she walks around the counter picks you up and gently places you on top of the counter. Considering she’s got a good three inches on you, it’s not that difficult. She steps in between your legs, slowly reaches up and caresses your cheek. Your eyes flicker down to her lips and without hesitation, Lena tilts her head up and presses her lips against yours. One of your hands moves to her hair, running through it. Lena lets out a soft moan. You immediately take advantage and slip your tongue inside. The two tongues fight for dominance while Lena’s hand grips onto your waist. Her other hand finds the small of your back. Your senses are overwhelmed, the feeling of her lips on yours, her hair between your fingers, her hands all over your body, just…her. Then, she removes her mouth from your and starts to plant wet kisses down your neck. They get lower and lower and lower until-
“What the fuck?!” Someone yells, interrupting the makeout session. Both of you jump apart looking very startled. You freeze when you see half of the team standing there watching you with their jaws hanging and eyes comically wide.
“Well shit,” Lena mumbles, pulling away from you a little more. Of course, you had completely forgotten that you had given a spare key to Sveindís. And of course, she chose that night to break in and bring half the team for an impromptu movie night. Everyone was silent for a few more seconds when finally Alex spoke up,
“Are you two like, together?” You glance warily at Obi, she looks at you with a soft smile and slips her hand into yours before answering,
“Yeah, we are.” This opens up the floodgates.
“Oh my God!”
“How long have you been dating?”
“Who asked out who?”
“Who else knows?”
“I can’t believe you didn’t tell us.”
“I knew it!”
It’s safe to say that movie night did not happen.

Hothead
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jule gets injured, and Lena tries to deal with her worry on top of the fact that she's still trying to keep it a secret that she's hopelessly in love with her best friend.
Luckily for her? Someone happens to feel the exact same way.
(a/n: Someone asked me MONTHS ago to write this...and well I'm like 6 months late but better late than never I suppose! Also I started writing this when Feli was still at Wolfsburg so she's still at Wolfsburg for the sake of I was too lazy to change what I had already written, take it or leave it.
I love getting to write Obi...so much. Like SO much! So much that I actually didn't edit this at all I just scrolled over it really fast and said MEH it's probably good to post (so sorry if there are mistakes). Also this is cross posted from ao3 because I'm pretty sure the request was sent on here, if I remember correctly. But anywho, enjoy!)
It was a dirty foul.
It was a really dirty foul, in fact, and pretty much all of the Wolfsburg girls are ready to throw hands when they see what has occurred.
Jule had been taking the ball up the right side of the pitch after Obi had sent her a lovely little long ball, when the Werder Bremen defender had gone right for her ankle instead of the ball. It was a crunching tackle, a dangerous and thoughtless one from the Werder player, and it sent the blonde winger tumbling to the ground with a cry of pain.
It was late in the game, they were up by one goal anyways, but as soon as Jule was hitting the ground, all hell broke loose. The Wolfsburg players were immediately going for the Werder defender who dared to hurt their golden girl, none leading the charge more than Lena.
The brunette was halfway across the field from Jule when she went down, but suddenly Lena was right next to Jule as she pressed her face into the grass, her ankle ringing with pain.
“Jule? Are you okay, should I get the medic?” Lena asks softly, her face close to Jule’s. The blonde can smell the patchouli and ylang-ylang of her perfume, and the way that Obi tugs her kit down from where it had ridden up before she placed her hand gently on the wingers back.
Jule hated the medic. She hated going down, didn’t want to hog attention away from the others, stop play, or force a substitution to be made unless it was absolutely necessary.
But the pain in her ankle isn’t subsiding in the way it should be, and she knows that she won’t be able to walk it off like she normally should. The blonde screwed her eyes shut in frustration as she nodded, moving to turn over on her side and eventually back as Lena began to flag down the team medic.
Which of course, happened to be the exact same time that the Werder defender decided to open her mouth, her words callous and unkind.
“Oh Jesus, why is she being such a baby? She’s fine, I hardly touched her,” the defender scoffed, and here’s the thing.
Lena knew that she had a reputation for how easily she found herself in the middle of a fight. It was a fair one, she knew that. The midfielder was the one most likely in her team to be found arguing with the referee, or to get into some sort of a brawl with another player, or something of the sort.
But her hot headedness in general paled in comparison to any sort of reaction that she had when it involved her blonde teammate.
It was a known fact at Wolfsburg that Lena and Jule just had an inexplicably close relationship. Ever since the winger had joined the German side, her and the midfielder had been completely inseparable.
For the older women in the team, the writing is on the wall, clear as day. But Jule is rather oblivious to the fact that her best friend is hopelessly in love with her. She would never imagine that Lena would actually reciprocate what she told herself was a silly little crush.
But it wasn’t just that, for either side.
Jule was gentle, maybe not always on the pitch but she was known for being incredibly sweet. Lena wasn’t exactly known for her saccharine like personality, but her and Jule just always seemed to work together. The midfielder was fiercely protective of the younger girl, whether that be batting away creepy men at clubs or making sure that she had eaten that day. It was the fact that they were complete opposites that seemed to make them work so well together, totally balancing one another out. Jule had this uncanny ability to calm Lena down, no matter what was occurring, whether it be in a game or when they are getting too competitive playing a board game with teammates. And in kind, Lena makes sure that Jule isn’t stepped on or bothered by anyone around her.
So for someone to say something like, something that is so blatantly rude and careless, all of the Wolfsburg girls were immediately turning to Lena, knowing what was about to happen.
“Oh you absolute BITCH–” Lena started as she turned toward the woman in a second, and she would have slammed right into her if it wasn’t for Feli, who wrapped her arms around the brunette at the last second and pulled her away.
“Not helping right now Miss Hothead,” Feli grunted out as she hauled Lena back with everything in her, the midfielder still practically snarling at the woman as she strained against her teammate heavily.
“Lena?”
The brunette turns on a dime at the sound of her name being called softly by the winger, and Feli nearly falls over at how quickly the midfielder moves away from her, completely abandoning her course of action in favor of turning toward Jule. It wasn’t very often that Jule used her real name as opposed to calling her Obi like the other girls, but when she did, the brown eyed girl knew to pay attention.
The blonde didn’t actually need the midfielder, but she knew that Lena was on the cusp of a yellow card, and the last thing she wanted to do was turn this into a card party, especially not when Lena had managed to make it through nearly the whole game without one.
“Are you alright?” Lena asked as she knelt down next to the winger, the anger wiped from her face in favor of a kinder, softer expression, the kind that was only reserved for Jule, and Jule alone.
Her eyebrows were knit together lightly, her head tilted to the side in worry as she looked down at her teammate, who shook her head slightly.
“It's a bad sprain or a possibly fracture,” Jule explained, parroting what the medic had told her as he nodded along. Lena hated the fact that she could tell Jule was trying not to cry, and it made her equal parts sad and murderously mad at the defender for causing the blonde to hurt this much.
“Help me up?” the blonde asked, breaking Lena out of her train of thought as she nodded. But the German midfielder was more than a little panicked, staring down at Jule who was looking at her with big, misty eyes, and clutching at her ankle.
The brunette hardly even thought about it, she simply acted. She didn’t think about the setting or the consequence, but rather on what was right in front of her.
The older girl reached down, hooking her arms around Jule’s back and under her knee, and lifting her into the air with a slightly scary lack of effort. Suddenly the blonde’s face was right in front of her own, and Obi could stare directly into the wingers eyes.
(Behind them stood Ewa, Alex, and Feli who, alongside thousands of fans, all but had their jaws on the ground)
But Lena isn’t focused on that, but rather the way Jule is looking at her, her eyebrows pulled together in concern. The wingers face is red, if not from exertion than from this interaction, and the midfielder can see the baby hairs that have loosened from her ponytail and frame her face.
“Obi?” Jule asked, her voice very soft, only loud enough for the brunette to hear.
“Yes?” She replied instantly, her heart jumping into her throat.
Sometimes Lena had these…moments with Jule, where she thought maybe it was possible that the other girl felt just as strongly as she did.
“I can walk…I–I need to walk off the pitch,” Jule said, louder this time, and Lena startled at her words, despite still holding the blonde safely in her arms.
The moment popped like a needle, and the brunette flushed an even deeper shade of red at the realization that she was definitely just kidding herself.
It simply wasn’t possible that Jule felt the same for her as she did.
“Right! Yes, well, here we are,” Lena said quickly very carefully lowering Jule to the ground and waiting for the medic to
Which left their teammates to watch the whole interaction, Alex, Ewa, and Feli still standing in a line as they looked back and forth between the winger and midfielder.
“Did she just–” Alex started, her voice incredulous as she was cut off.
“Yes.” Ewa says, never one to mince words.
“In the middle of a–” Feli tried this time, faltering when the Polish forward answered yet again.
“Yep.” The striker said again, and the three women were stuck standing there in amazement at what had just occurred.
“Hopeless lovesick idiots, the both of them!” Lynn whisper shouted as she walked past the trio from just behind them, her hand cupped over her mouth as though she was trying to be sly, despite the volume of her voice.
But neither Jule nor Lena heard their scheming teammates, both of them too focused on trying to get the winger off the pitch to be paying attention to their teammates. Obi helped Jule to wrap her arms around the shoulders of the medic as she hobbled off the field, Vivien taking her place on the pitch.
Lena doesn’t bother looking toward her coach, she knows that she won’t get a sub out, not this late in the game. But her heart isn’t really in it anymore, it’s back in the medical room where she knows that Jule is, probably getting an x-ray or something of the sort.
Not that it really matters though. Jule’s injury has sucked the energy out of the match as quickly as it had come, and it ends up being a passing game for Wolfsburg for the remaining few minutes of the game.
Meanwhile, Jule had just gotten situated on a bed in the medical room when Svenja had burst in the doors, her eyes searching for and immediately finding the blonde winger. The older woman hadn’t been playing, had only been sitting on the bench when Jule had gone down, and had instantly gone to get permission to go check on the younger German.
It wasn’t news to anyone that Svenja was absolutely the team Mom of the group, now even more so because she was an actual Mom. But she always made it her mission to look out for the younger girls, in whatever way she could.
Like when they got hurt, and she knew that they would likely be stressed and in pain. Jule can’t help the relief that washed over her when the door swung open to reveal Svenja, her eyes watering.
“Hey kid,” the forward soothed gently as she came to stand next to Jule, who swallowed thickly as she did her best to offer a smile, even if it came out as more of a grimace than anything else. It was Svenja who sat with her for the next twenty minutes as they ran more tests, brought in a portable x-ray machine, determining that it was a small fracture in her ankle. It was minor, she would likely be out for the next four weeks and in a boot, but it meant that she wouldn’t have to have surgery, which of course was good news.
The doctors had just given her a boot to wear as well as some crutches, slipping out of the room and leaving Jule to get down from the table, when they first heard it.
At first glance, it sounded like a commotion in the hallways, and Jule thought that maybe it was the girls celebrating the win.
But it only took a second for her to realize that was in fact not the case. It’s Obi’s voice that she hears, high and shrill. The midfielder sounds beyond stressed and panicked, and Jule feels her eyebrows furrow in concern at the noise.
“Where is sh–” Obi cuts herself off when she all but busts open the door to the med room, Feli hot on her heels.
“Jule!” the midfielder exclaims, her eyes widening as she realized that she had found the winger.
“Jesus, did we have to sprint the whole way?” Feli pants, following Obi into the room with sarcasm dripping from her tone. Svenja forces down a chuckle but Lena doesn’t even bother paying her any mind, her eyes wild with concern.
“Are you okay? What did the doctor say? Is everything alright? Do you need–” Lena started, only for Svenja to very quickly cut her off, sensing that the German midfielders' panicked energy was not what this room needed right now.
“Feli, could you help Jule with her boot and crutches while I talk to the lovely Ms. Oberdorf for a second?” Svenja said, a question that wasn’t really a question at all as she drug the brunette out of the room, leaving Feli and Jule both to stare after them, a little bit lost but shrugging all the same.
Svenja closed the door behind them, turning to Obi with a disapproving glint in her eyes.
“Okay, you need to get it together lover girl, because you can’t–” Svenja started, but Obi shook her head, pulling back in clear disagreement, her expression weak.
“Lover girl? I don’t even know what you’re talking abou–” she started, only for Svenja to double it and cut her off again.
“You can save the denial for someone who actually believes you. We all know you love that girl, it’s about as clear as a sky blue sunny day, but perhaps we aren’t ready to have that exact conversation. So for now, I need you to calm the hell down and rein it in. You’re here to help that poor girl relax, not to stress her out with a game of twenty questions. Understand?” Svenja asked bluntly, knowing that sweet talking her way with Obi wasn’t something that was really all that necessary.
The midfielder swallowed thickly before she nodded, her cheeks tinged with pink from embarrassment. But Svenja just pays her no mind, turning back toward the med room, where Feli and Jule were having a conversation of their own.
Obi had to give herself a bit of a pep talk before she went back into the room, and by the time she reenters the med room, Jule is upright with a boot and crutches.
“Lena, I’m going to take Jule home, would you like to come with us?” Svenja prompted, gesturing as subtly as she could toward Jule.
It didn’t matter either way, because her sentence was barely done before the midfielder was responding.
“Yes, absolutely!” Lena chirped out, her voice about two octaves higher than normal. Jule was a little pink in the face from using the crutches, but she still looked up with a quirked brow, entirely unimpressed with how fake her friend's voice sounded.
She chose not to comment on it further, her foot throbbing painfully inside the boot as she made her way slowly out to the car. The winger is so focused on her journey, in fact, that she hardly notices the way that Lena hovers behind her, just on the off chance that Jule stumbles and needs help.
She also entirely misses the several eye rolls from both Feli and Svenja as they walked out to the car, both women equally annoyed by their collective cluelessness.
Not my circus not my monkeys, the defender mouthed to the forward, whose face immediately dropped in indignation.
“Yes it is!” She exclaimed, shooting a dazzling (and decidedly fake) smile at both Obi and Jule when they turned back around, equally confused by the seemingly random words.
But Feli waved them off, a thrilled grin on her face at Svenja’s little outburst. The defender helped get Jule into the forward's car before saying goodnight to her teammates and heading back to her own apartment. Lena followed Svenja’s car in her own, figuring it would be good for them to have possible means of transportation if they needed anything.
It was Svenja who helped Jule instead, getting her set up on the couch and dolling out pain medication before she began to go over the list of what to do with Lena.
She didn’t bother with asking the brunette if she was staying with Jule, she just…always had been. There was no use in denying the inevitable, really.
“Okay, and you call me if you need anything, alright? Even if it’s the middle of the night,” Svenja told Jule, who gave her a small smile and a nod.
“Yes, yes, of course Mom. Thank you for everything today,” the blonde replied softly, and the older woman squeezed her arm affectionately before seeing herself, leaving only the winger and midfielder in Jule’s apartment.
It was hardly the first time that Lena had been here, quite the opposite really. The two of them were practically inseparable, and spent most of their time together, at one of their two apartments.
Obi was so used to Jule’s apartment, the younger girl practically considered her a roommate. The second bedroom had a dresser with her clothes in it and a toothbrush for her in the bathroom, so it wasn’t that big of a stretch honestly.
But for some reason the midfielder can’t seem to sit still today, floating around the apartment doing odds and ends, asking Jule if she needs something every few minutes (seconds, really), and exerting a rather tumultuous energy over the whole place.
After about fifteen minutes, Jule sighs heavily. And right on key, Lena appears by her side, looking down at her with wide eyes.
“What! What is it?” She asks breathlessly, having run in from the kitchen. Jule shakes her head, her expression set with exasperation that masks the hurt she’s beginning to feel.
“Lena, if you do not want to be here you can just go home! I broke my foot, not my entire body, I do not need a babysitter,” Jule huffs out, having mistaken Lena’s nerves for annoyance.
But she’s surprised by the way that the brunette’s face falls, and she instantly settles down on the couch next to her teammates, shaking her head.
“No, no, there is nowhere else I want to be, I promise. I just…I don’t…” Lena trails off, struggling to find the words. Her face is screwed with indecision, and it makes the wingers heart leap into her throat.
“You don’t…what?” Jule prompts lightly, her voice light and barely audible. It sounds rather breathless, and she hates herself for a moment by how much her voice gives her hopes away. She prays Lena won’t pick up on it…or maybe she prays that she will.
Obi looks over at the blonde, her heart thumping in her chest. Jule is looking at her with an entirely unreadable expression, and for just a moment the brunette wonders if it would even be possible for her friend to feel the same way that she does.
She couldn’t explain her attraction to Jule, nor could she articulate how strong it was. It felt like the winger was the sun, and the brunette was simply made to orbit around her.
Everything was better when Jule was there. Her laugh, her smile had this completely contagious property, and it made Obi feel lighter, happier, better.
She made Lena better, just by being herself. She was warm and kind where the midfielder was callous and gruff. She was soft and forgiving, forcing Lena to relax and give herself some grace.
It wasn’t something she could explain, because how on earth are you supposed to describe the one person in the world who means everything to you?
Lena opens her mouth, her feelings on the tip of her tongue. They’ve been sitting there for a now awkwardly long period of time, the silence clinging to them both, hanging in the space between them. Jule is staring back at her, her jaw clenched shut, her teeth clenched with a nervous anxiousness, wondering if this is the moment where everything will change.
But doubt creeps into the brunette’s mind, and the thought of confessing flees her mind as quickly as it comes.
“I just don’t know what to do to help you feel better, that's all,” Lena finally says lamely, and it takes everything in Jule for her expression not to drop in disappointment, swallowing the feeling and offering a smile instead.
“You make me feel better just by being here,” she admitted, and it was the truth, if not the entire truth.
Was it lying, if it was a lie of omission?
Jule isn’t sure. She isn’t sure what she’d rather be: filled with regret because she never said anything, or filled with regret because she had.
“But if you’re just going to sit here with two working feet I wouldn’t say no to a sandwich,” the blonde tacked on at the end, the breath stolen from her lungs at the way Lena’s face lit up, a laugh tumbling from her mouth.
“You got it, coming right up!” She announced as she hopped up from the couch, leaving Jule to her thoughts.
Just as she often did, the German winger spent the next few minutes mulling over the pros and cons list that had only grown as time dragged on.
To tell her best friend that she was in love with her, and risk all of the fall out if she didn’t feel the same? Or never tell her, and simply live with what could have been, if she was a little less scared?
It seemed like an easy choice when she framed it like that, but the actual implications of her actions somehow seemed so much larger.
She’s so lost in thought, that she hardly notices Lena coming back with food for them both, until the midfielder is placing her hand gently on Jule’s thigh. The touch causes the blonde to jump, and Lena retracts her hand just as quickly, as though she’s been burned.
“Sorry, sorry,” the midfielder is quick to say, but Jule shakes her head emphatically.
“No apologies, please. I was just lost in thought…about my foot! About my foot, I was thinking about my foot!” Jule explained, seeming a little too happy to be thinking about her foot when the person on the receiving end of her words doesn’t realize its a coverup.
But really, what was she supposed to do? It wasn’t like she could just tell Lena how she felt, right here and right now.
“Thank you for the food,” the blonde rushes to say instead, and the two fall into gentle chatter as they eat their food. Jule is honestly glad for the distraction, would rather do anything other than talk about her injury right now.
She’s lucky it wasn’t worse, that it wasn’t badly broken, or required surgery, but it still sucked to be injured regardless.
The winger knew that she was lucky to have Lena to sit here and make her laugh, to drop whatever she had been doing to be here. So amidst her confusion over whether to admit her feelings, still her gratitude toward the midfielder balloons in size.
When Jule leaned forward to put her plate on the coffee table, Lena is looking at her closely.
“What else do you need? What can I get you?” The older girl asks, and Jule shakes her head slightly, a soft smile on her face.
“I’m fine Obi, I don’t need anything else. I honestly just kind of want to go to bed,” Jule admitted, and Lena nodded, before looking down with a furrowed brow at the blonde’s boot.
“What?” Jule asks with a tiny chuckle, loving the fact that she could see Lena’s brain work in real time, as if she was working out a very complex math problem and not staring at her teammates foot.
“That thing has to hurt to walk on, doesn’t it?” Obi asked, and Jule shrugged before admitting that while it was a bit painful, it was manageable.
But that seemed to do nothing but displease the midfielder further, and before Jule could hardly say a thing in response, Lena was reaching forward, and just as she had on the football pitch, picking the blonde up.
Only, in this instance it was a tad more appropriate than it had been earlier in the day.
“Oh! Lena, what are you doing?” Jule asked with a laugh, still amazed that the brunette could pick her up with such ease, with so little effort.
The midfielder rolled her eyes, carefully navigating them around the couch and toward the stairs.
“Clearly I’m using the fact that I have two working legs to flex on you! Now, what do we say?” Lena teased, throwing on an overly saccharine and fake tone that is clearly meant to get Jule to laugh. Not that she cares, because it works easily. She tips her head back slightly, content when her teammates catches the change of weight easily.
When she leans back in she’s still giggling, but when she opens her eyes she finds that her face is a lot closer to Lena’s than she had anticipated. The younger girl swallows roughly, blinking several times to try to rid her expression of surprise.
Lena’s brown eyes are staring at her pensively, softly. The sense of gentleness that her gaze held was one that had always just been reserved for Jule, and here it was, just for her.
As brash and argumentative as Obi could be, there was no one in the world who could cause her to soften quite like Jule Brand.
The older girl clears her throat after a second, focusing on continuing up the stairs and into the bedroom.
The next few minutes are filled with getting themselves situated and ready for bed, teeth brushes and sink showers attempted because the thought of having to stand on one leg to shower sounded like hell on earth.
But there was Lena, always there to hold her up and make her smile, even when she was just doing mundane tasks like brushing her teeth.
They switch her boot out for an ankle brace, to give her some support without being too restrictive. Lena shoves a pillow down at the end of the bed gracelessly, before gently propping up Jule’s foot with great care. The two acts are entirely juxtaposing of one another, and they make the blonde giggle as she settles into her bed, the flush that coats Obi’s cheeks as a result not lost on her.
“Will you stay with me?” Jule looked up at Lena, her face filled with uncharacteristic worry. It was hardly a question she needed to ask, and the answer from her teammate is both immediate and automatic.
“Of course,” she replied, moving to turn the light off and climb into bed next to her best friend.
But it’s only after the lights are turned off, and the comfort of darkness has descended on them both, that they are able to finally admit what’s been on the tip of their tongues for weeks now.
The fact that’s probably both surprising to the two of them is that it’s Jule, and not Lena, who says something first, her boldness coming out of nowhere even if it didn’t last for more than a single word.
Lena was laying on her back, staring up at the ceiling from her spot on the left side of the bed. Jule laid on the right side, turned on her left side so that she was facing her teammate, which was how she usually slept when there wasn’t anyone in her bed anyways.
The winger can just barely make out the brunette’s profile, the bridge of her nose and the sharp edges of her jaw, her chest rising and falling shallowly, heartbeat quickened by whom she was in proximity of.
“Lena?” Jule asked, her voice quiet. It was rare for her to say the midfielders actual name, and Lena’s heart skips a beat at the question.
“Yes Jule?” She responds, her voice equally soft.
“I–” Jule opens her mouth to say more, and finds that she isn’t sure what to say.
It’s an uncomfortable reality, to realize that you care so greatly for another person in life that you find yourself unable to fully elucidate your feelings.
But before she can even try again, Obi is cutting her thought process off softly.
“Can I be honest with you about something?” The brunette asks, struggling to keep her throat open enough to explain how she’s feeling.
“Yes,” the blonde replies instantly, her words filled with relief and hope, and it’s her tone and that alone that spurs Lena on, that allows her to say what she’s been feeling for months.
“When we were downstairs and we were talking before and I paused I…I wasn’t brave enough to say it but I can now,” she began, taking a very slow breath before continuing. “I think I love you, Jule.”
“You think?” The winger asked, her voice small but neutral in its tone. Lena swallows roughly at the sound, wondering if she’s made a big mistake.
But it’s too late now to think about that, so instead she forges ahead.
“No, not I think. I know I love you, and I have for months now. Maybe ever since I met you,” Lena admits, finally turning her head to look at Jule. The blonde is sitting in bed on her side, facing the older girl.
When the brunette turned toward her, the winger reached out with her hand, running her fingers gently over the midfielders cheek until she was cradling her jaw.
“I love you too,” Jule whispered into the space next to them, and she can feel rather than see the tear that slips down Lena’s cheek, the wetness seeping into her palm. The midfielder turns her head, pressing an impossibly soft kiss to the inside of Jule’s wrist.
The brunette moves with such gentleness and care, it physically feels as though the blonde’s heart will burst from how in love with Lena Oberdorf she is.
Obi moves lightly, but with purpose nonetheless, as she gathers Jules into her arms and finally, their two bodies are pressed together softly.
The winger tucks her body into Lena’s, not caring that her foot protests at the movement as she’s engulfed in Lena’s scent and the warmth of her body. Jule tucks her head into the midfielders neck, clutching to the brunette as Lena’s hands bring her close, keeping her safe.
The sigh of relief that they both let out happens at the same time, as the comfort of finally being pressed together is realized. Jule cuddles into Lena, feeling sleep pull at her, the worry of her feelings not being returned now swept away like a leaf in a strong current.
“I love you,” Jule murmured into Lena’s neck, the soft puff of air tickling the brunette’s skin in the best possible way. She smiled softly, tightening her grip imperceptibly.
“I love you more,” Lena promises, pressing a kiss to Jule’s temple as they melt into one another, sleep coming to claim them both in the darkness of the blonde’s bedroom.
There is still so much to talk about and discuss properly, sure, but for the night nothing else matters, except the fact that neither of them can really tell where the one ends, and the other one begins.

cherished birthday
ewa pajor x reader
the best birthday of your life, and you are happy that she is here with you for it
in honor of my twentieth birthday being yesterday <3
Tumblr media
growing up, birthdays weren’t much of a thing in your house.
there were never any balloons tied to the dining chairs, no cake adorned with bright candles, no presents stacked in colorful wrapping paper. maybe there’d be a hurried "happy birthday" tossed your way in passing, but even that was rare.
most years, it was just another day, and you’d long since learned not to expect anything different.
so, you grew up pretending it didn’t matter.
when you met ewa, she’d asked you about your birthday once, early in your relationship.
"what do you usually like to do for it?" she’d asked casually, her hands busy tying her shoelaces before practice.
you stood over her, remembering when ewa still played in your old city of wolfsburg..
you’d shrugged at her question.
"nothing special."
"nothing at all?" her eyebrows furrowed slightly. for a moment, you thought she might press further.
"yeah, it’s not a big deal," you’d said, brushing it off with a nonchalance you had perfected over the years. ewa left it at that, maybe sensing the wall you’d put up around the topic.
the truth was, it did matter. it mattered in ways you hated admitting, even to yourself. every year, like clockwork, a small, hollow ache would settle in your chest as the date crept closer. you’d see pictures of other people’s birthdays online…friends being showered with love, cakes topped with sparklers, laughter, and parties that seemed endless everytime you sat in the corner at one of them.
every year, you’d tell yourself it didn’t bother you. you’d remind yourself you weren’t the kind of person who needed that kind of attention.
ewa didn’t know any of this. not about the way your heart twisted a little when someone casually mentioned their birthday plans, or the fleeting envy you felt when her teammates threw each other surprise parties in the locker room.
you were good at hiding it, at playing it cool.
that’s how you ended up here, sitting on the bleachers after one of barcelona’s training sessions, sipping water and idly scrolling through your phone while ewa and her teammates cooled down back in the locker rooms.
it wasn’t until keira plopped down next to you that you realized you weren’t alone.
"hey," keira said, wiping sweat off her forehead with the edge of her jersey.
"hey," you replied, glancing up briefly with a small smile.
she stretched her legs out in front of her, letting out a content sigh.
"so, ewa says your birthday’s coming up."
your stomach clenched.
"oh, uh, yeah. it’s nothing big."
"she said that too," keira said, giving you a curious look.
"but she seemed a little confused about why you didn’t want to do anything for it."
you shrugged, avoiding her gaze.
"it’s just another day."
"you sure about that?" keira asked, her tone gentle but probing.
"yeah," you said quickly, too quickly. you could feel her watching you, and it made you fidget with the cap of your water bottle.
"y/n," keira started after a moment, leaning back on her elbows,
"i don’t know what’s going on, but everyone deserves to feel special on their birthday. even you."
the english woman’s words made your throat tighten.
you stared at the pitch, watching an assistant coach place a few balls back into a large bag.
"i’ve just… never really celebrated it," you admitted quietly, surprising even yourself with the confession.
keira turned her head to look at you, her expression softening.
"never?"
"not really," you muttered, twisting the bottle cap in your hands.
"my parents… they weren’t the kind of people who made a big deal out of stuff like that. so, i just got used to it."
keira didn’t say anything right away, letting the weight of your words settle between you. finally, she said, "does ewa know?"
you shook your head.
"i’ve never told her. it’s not like it matters anyway."
keira let out a small huff of disbelief.
"of course, it matters. you’re with her now, yeah? she’d want to know."
"maybe," you said softly, your voice barely audible.
keira nudged your shoulder lightly.
"just think about it, okay? you deserve to be celebrated. even if it’s something small. let her do that for you."
five days before your birthday, you were at work, buried in the usual chaos. the sound of the phone ringing, the hum of conversations around you, and the clicking of keyboards filled the air.
you moved through your day, keeping busy to distract yourself from the fact that your 29th birthday was right around the corner. birthdays had never been much to you, just a day that came and went like any other.
you convinced yourself it didn’t matter.
this year, something will be different. unbeknownst to you, ewa was planning something.
it started after practice.. after you left from talking to keira. you told ewa that you will see her at home and went back to work.. keira approached ewa in the locker room. leaning casually against her locker, keira tilted her head and crossed her arms.
"ewa, can i talk to you for a second?"
ewa, in the middle of untying her laces, looked up.
"sure, what’s up?"
keira’s tone softened.
"it’s about y/n’s birthday. have you thought about doing something for her?"
ewa frowned, straightening up.
"i’ve asked her about it before. she always says it’s not a big deal."
"yeah, i know she says that," keira said,
"but do you really believe her?"
ewa hesitated.
"i don’t not. at the same time, i don’t want to push her or her boundaries if she’s not comfortable."
keira sighed, sitting down next to ewa.
"look, i had a conversation with her earlier, and she admitted she’s never really celebrated her birthday. like, ever. i think she downplays it because she’s used to it being ignored. the way she said it though… i also think, deep down, she wants to feel special. she deserves to feel special."
ewa’s brows knit together, concern flickering in her eyes.
"are you sure?"
"trust me," keira said firmly.
"a small celebration with people who care about her? it’ll mean the world to her, even if she pretends it doesn’t."
ewa nodded slowly, her mind already spinning with ideas.
"okay. i’ll do it. i’ll make it special for her."
that evening, while you were still busy at work, ewa began planning. the first thing she did was call your mutual friends back in wolfsburg.
"you want us to come to barcelona?" alex popp asked, her voice light through the phone.
"yes," ewa said.
"it’s y/n’s birthday soon, and i want to surprise her."
"of course, i’m in!" alex said enthusiastically.
"me too," lynn chimed in when ewa called her.
"you know i’d never miss it."
with the guest list set, ewa turned her attention to the details. she ordered an ice cream cake…your absolute favorite…and spent hours picking out decorations that were simple yet elegant for an upcoming 29 year old.
she also started shopping for presents, determined to spoil you despite knowing your friends would bring gifts as well.
throughout the week, ewa coordinated everything while keeping it a secret from you. she hid her phone conversations and made sure you didn’t catch on to her plans.
you, on the other hand, were completely oblivious. you’d convinced yourself that your birthday would be just another ordinary day. but keira’s words lingered in the back of your mind:
everyone deserves to feel special on their birthday.
so, you decided to do something small for yourself this year. just a little treat.
finally, your birthday arrived.
you woke up to the soft warmth of ewa’s arms around you, her voice a gentle murmur in your ear.
"wszystkiego najlepszego, kochanie," she whispered, pressing light kisses to your temple, your cheek, and finally your lips.
your heart fluttered at the sound of her voice, and you smiled sleepily.
"thank you."
ewa watched as you stretched and sat up, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. the woman’s eyes trailed down your naked back..
when you started to get out of bed, she frowned.
"where are you going?" she asked, propping herself up on one elbow.
"i have a few appointments," you said casually, pulling on a pair of slippers.
ewa blinked, confused.
"appointments? on your birthday?"
"yeah," you said, avoiding her gaze.
"not for work… just a pedicure, manicure, and a massage for myself. nothing big."
ewa’s confusion melted into a warm smile.
"you’re treating yourself?"
you nodded, feeling a little shy.
"i guess i’m just trying to be nicer to myself this year."
ewa reached for your hand, squeezing it gently.
"i’m proud of you, love."
you smiled, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
"thanks. i’ll be back around five, okay?"
"perfect," ewa said, her heart racing as she realized how perfectly your schedule lined up with her plans. almost afraid that your plans would have jeopardized the surprise party.
as soon as you left, ewa started putting things together. by the time five o’clock rolled around, the house was completely transformed. balloons in your favorite colors floated around the dining room, and a banner reading "happy birthday" hung across the wall.
the beautiful ice cream cake sat in the fridge, ready for its big reveal.
your friends from wolfsburg had arrived earlier in the day, along with some of ewa’s barcelona teammates. keira, kika, esmee, caroline, ingrid, lynn, and alex were all there, mingling and laughing as they waited for your return.
some of your non-footballer friends were here as well, waiting to see their special friend.
when you finally walked through the door, you noticed the lights were off, but a few stray balloons caught your attention.
you frowned, stepping further inside.
"ewa?" you called out, your voice hesitant.
suddenly, the lights flickered on, and a chorus of voices shouted, "surprise!"
you froze, your eyes widening as you took in the scene. the dining room was filled with people…your friends from wolfsburg, ewa’s barcelona teammates, and even caroline and ingrid, who you've known forever since they played with ewa at both of her clubs.
"happy birthday!" alex said, pulling you into a tight hug.
"you didn’t think we’d let you have a boring birthday, did you?" lynn teased, the dutch grinning ear to ear.
"what… how…?" you stammered, overwhelmed by the sight of so many familiar faces.
ewa appeared by your side, wrapping an arm around your waist.
"i wanted to do something special for you. you deserve it."
tears pricked your eyes as you looked around the room, the warmth and love radiating from everyone filling your chest.
the evening was nothing short of magical. you laughed until your sides hurt, danced with ewa and your friends, and even got competitive during an intense round of uno. when it was time for the cake, you closed your eyes and made a wish, the warmth in your chest spreading as everyone sang "happy birthday" to you.
by the end of the night, after everyone had left around 2 a.m., you sat on the couch with ewa, tears streaming down your face.
"thank you," you whispered, your voice trembling with emotion.
ewa cupped your face in her hands, her eyes soft and full of love.
"you deserve to be celebrated, kochanie. i hope this year brings you nothing but happiness."
she leaned in, pressing a lingering kiss to your lips.
"happy 29th, my love."
you smiled through your tears, your heart fuller than it had ever been.

Coffee date ☕️
Leane Oberdorf x reader
Tumblr media
warning : fluffy 💭 💗 ?
(my first language isn't english, sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes)
Summary :
You had the most important exams coming up, the ones that determined if you had waisted the past 7 years of your life. Knowing this, your girlfriend decided it was best not to stress you out even more by telling you she injured her ACL. You only found out 3 weeks later on a coffee date, the first time you saw each other after the exam.
Tumblr media
You finally had a moment to breathe. After weeks of extreme study sessions and the stress of your final exams, you were free. The first thing on your mind after finishing was meeting Lena. It had been weeks since you'd properly spent time together, after all her support for the exams, you couldn’t wait to see her.
Walking into your favourite café, you spotted her immediately. Your girlfriend sat in the corner by the window, her leg stretched out, a pair of crutches propped against the wall next to her. She gave you a bright smile as soon as your eyes met, but you couldn’t help noticing the crutches. They weren't there before.
- (L) Hey, stranger
Lena greeted, standing carefully, balancing on her good leg as she pulled you into a warm hug. The crutches clattered as she leaned against you for support.
- I’ve missed you.
You hugged her back tightly, heart racing.
- I’ve missed you too. What's with the crutches?
Lena’s smile faltered just slightly, but she waved you off, ushering you to sit down with her. Brushing off your question, she said :
- Let’s get some coffee first
You sat down, but your concern grew. There was something she wasn’t telling you. As you settled into the cozy atmosphere of the café, Lena handed you a cup of your favorite coffee.
- So, how did the exams go?
Her eyes sparkling with affection, you sighed, taking a sip.
- I think they went okay. I feel like I’ve been in a tunnel for weeks though.
Lena chuckled softly.
- Well, I knew you would ace them. I’m proud of you.
You smiled, but your eyes kept drifting to her crutches. There was no hiding the worry on your face.
- Lena, what happened? Why are you on crutches?
She bit her lip, her gaze softening.
- I was going to tell you after your exams... I didn’t want to stress you out.
Your heart sank.
- Tell me what?
Lena sighed, finally looking at you with a serious expression.
- I tore my ACL... three weeks ago.
The words hit you like a punch to the gut.
- Three weeks ago? Lena, why didn’t you tell me?
She reached for your hand across the table, squeezing it gently.
- You were so focused on your exams. I didn’t want to add to your stress. This was your moment, and I knew you’d worry. You didn’t need that on top of everything else.
You stared at her, a mix of emotions swirling inside you, shock, concern, frustration, guilt.
- But you were going through that, and I didn’t even know. I could’ve been there for you.
- I didn’t want you to be distracted and now that your exams are over, I wanted to tell you everything. I’m okay now, really. Surgery went well, and I’m starting my rehab. It’s just going to take some time.
She respond softly. You nodded, still processing her words.
- I just wish I’d known sooner. I hate the idea of you going through that without me.
Lena gave you a warm, reassuring smile.
- You’re here now, and that’s what matters. Besides, I’ve had plenty of support from the team. You’ve got me now, and I’ve got you. We’ll get through this together.
You looked at the crutches again, then back at her, feeling a rush of love and determination.
- I’m going to be there for you, every step. You’re not doing this alone.
Lena chuckled, her eyes shining with affection.
- I never thought you’d let me off easy.
She paused, lifting your hand to her lips and pressing a gentle kiss.
- But for now, let’s enjoy this coffee date. It’s been too long since we’ve just relaxed.
You smiled, feeling your heart swell.
- You’re right. We both deserve this.
The weight of the past few weeks began to lift as you shared quiet laughter and small talk.
The road ahead would be difficult for her, but you knew that whatever challenges came next, you’d face them together.

----------
Dreams are made to come true, they say. Yours just started when you signed your first professional contract for Barcelona. You were nervous, but you were not alone; there was your sister, the great Alexia Putellas, and the one who will become your best friend, Ona Batlle. But your debut was not really like you expected; according to your previous coach, you were too much like your big sister, and the club decided to send you on loan to Levante.
You should be angry by their decision, but you got more play time there, and you were with Ona, at least until she joined the WSL. The defender tried to convince you to go with her and maybe play with her in Manchester, but you declined. You were really happy with your new club, and they even decided to keep you after the left back left.
But fortunately or unfortunately for you, Barcelona wanted you back after their Champions League final win against Chelsea. At first, you thought that they finally found an interest in you, but you learned late that it was more of a way for them to be sure you didn’t sign with the rival, Real Madrid.
At the end of the 2022 season, you received some calls from a lot of clubs who were ready to sign you next summer. Honestly, you didn’t know how they could recruit a bench player, but two clubs caught your attention: Manchester United and VfL Wolfsburg. When you talk about it with your sister, it’s unnecessary to say she wasn’t really happy with it.
You were with the team celebrating the three trophies won this season. You talked a little with Ingrid and Fridolina; you three grew up close because they joined the club with you. After they gave you some advice, you decided to pull your sister away from the girls to announce your decision.
"But why?" Alexia asked, and you rolled your eyes.
"Do you really need to ask?" You were not really shocked by the fact that she seemed oblivious to your situation; every time you played together, she looked as happy as when you were both children and you were trying to reach her level. But there is the problem: you were not that little kid anymore, and you definitely didn’t want to reach her level like you did in the past. "Listen, I already talked with the coach and everyone. Ingrid and Frido said that Wolfsburg is a great team to improve myself so I think I can try."
"But why? Is it because we lost in the Champions League? I’m angry too, but don’t worry; we will do it next year, I promise." She said, and you sighed.
"No, it’s not—" you groaned. "I mean, yes, I’m angry that we lost, but it’s not because of that."
"So what is it? I thought you wanted to win the Champions League together. I thought you wanted to show the world how incredible the Putellas sisters are." She said, and gave you a nudge.
"I want; I really want, but look at us. You won the freaking Ballon d'Or; you're the captain of the team and the national team. Don’t get me wrong, I’m really proud of you; nobody deserved it more than you. But look at me; I struggle to make my way on this team. Until I’m still in your shadow, I could never reach your level; it’s not your fault, but it’s just that no team needs two of the same players." You explained, and your sister stayed there, processing everything you said.
"I didn’t know," she said. You wrapped your arm around her shoulders and gave her a weak smile. "I’m sorry," she said with tears in her eyes.
"Hey, it’s okay; it’s not your fault; it’s just that you started to create your own legend here, and it’s a good thing, but if I want to improve my skill, I need to leave." You said, and she hugged you.
======
The final whistle echoed in the stadium; it's over; Spain lost against England and was out of the Euro 2022. It took you a moment to realize what that meant. The coach called you just before the first match to let you know you'd replace your sister because she got injured just before the competition, and now you were angry and disappointed because you didn't qualify your team for the next round.
You were sitting on the pitch with your head in your hands when you felt a hand on your shoulder. You turned your head to meet Ona's eyes. She was trying to restrain her tears, but you knew her better than anyone else. You didn't say anything; you just stood up and pulled her into a tight hug before your teammates came a few seconds later.
After a little while, you went to congratulate the winners with a sad smile, and you could see some English players were truly sorry for you. Leah came and hugged you while you tried not to fall apart on her shoulder. "I'm sure she's proud of you." She whispered to you, and you nodded. When you broke the hug and looked at the crowd, you saw her. Alexia was there, visibly sad, but she gave you a smile to reassure you and let you know that she's proud of your match even if Spain didn't win.
Later that night, you were with Ona, packing your things, when Alexia knocked on the door. The defender took a moment to analyze and make sure you were okay before she left you two alone.
"You did great." Alexia said, and you hummed, not really looking at her to avoid a possible deception on her face. She grabbed your hand, and you finally looked at her "I'm serious, you were the best player today."
"Yeah, but that was not enough to win." You replied, and she sighed. She knew why you were acting like that, why this defeat seemed more important to you than anyone else, and secretly she couldn't help but blame herself for something she couldn't change.
"This shot in the second half was extremely precise, and if their captain didn't touch the ball, I'm sure you would score." She added and rubbed your cheeks with her hand. You lowered your head to look at her leg and the clutches she carried with her everywhere.
"How is your knee?" You changed the subject; you were definitely not ready to talk about it right now.
"It will be hard, but I should be back before the end of the next season." She said, and sat on the bed where your suitcase was while you continued to fulfill it. There was silence until your sister spoke again. "You know, we'll miss you." She said it with a sad smile.
"I know, but it's not like I'll change continents or anything. We will stay in the same time zone, and if you're good without me, we will face each other in the Champion's League." You joked, and she gently pushed you.
You spent the rest of your summer with your family before being called to Germany. In the airport, your mom and Alexia were making sure you hadn't forgotten anything, while Alba and you just rolled your eyes at them. When they called your flight, you gave them a last group hug, cautiously avoiding touching your sister's knee.
To your surprise, everything fit perfectly; your new teammates were really happy to have a new face, and the coach seemed to really trust you. Due to your position on the field, you didn't start every match, but it was definitely enough to grow some ties with your teammates and one in particular, Lena Oberdorf.
You were used to playing behind your sister in Barcelona, so of course you didn't mind playing defensive midfielder beside her, and it was definitely a game changer to have both of you on the pitch. The Bundesliga seemed too small for you two; rare were the strikers who were able to pass you and the German.
You definitely shined during the group stage of the Champions League, when everyone was prepared to stop Poppy or Pajor; they didn't know you were able to play as N°10, and every goalkeeper was shocked to see you so close to their penalty areas.
Because of your perfect performance on the group stage, Lena started to call you Prinzessin, or princess in German, because of Alexia's nickname. You found it funny and started to call her your knight because she always cleaned up after you every time you lost a dual.
Everything couldn't be better; you were one of the best scorers in the Bundesliga and definitely the one with more assists. While you were eliminating the PSG, your best friend was becoming the best left back in the WSL, and your sister started to work out to prepare for her comeback.
======
At the press conference before your first leg at home against Arsenal, a journalist asked something funny to Tommy Stroot: "What can you say about the transformation of Y/n?"
"What?" Your coach asked back.
"I mean, it's not the end of the season, and she already beat her record from the two past seasons. She was involved in four goals in the semifinal of the DFB-Pokal against Bayern. So, I'm asking if you know something about her transformation on the pitch."
There was a little silence; the response seemed so obvious that the coach couldn't even believe he asked him that. "I don't know if it's really a transformation; when she trained with us for the first time, she beat my expectations. I don't think we did something to her; maybe she just needed some confidence and play time. She's a young player, and it's the most important thing."
"Talking about play time, she got injured in the last match; do you think she'll get back in time for the match tomorrow?" Another journalist asked.
No, definitely not, but she works hard on her side to be available for the match in London, so I'm not worried." After a few rounds of questions, the conference ended.
To your surprise, the first leg ended in a draw. You were frustrated not only because you couldn't play but also because you knew you had to win the next match. In London, things were a little different; the Gunners were favorites, of course, but the atmosphere was almost suffocating, and things didn't go better when Stina scored the first goal. You were on the bench for this match; you were ready to play, but your coach wanted to use you as a super sub, and this man rarely gets it wrong.
At the end of full time, the score was 4-4 in aggregate, so that meant overtime, and overtime meant super sub. You just need 15 minutes to install fear in your opponent's mind. You barely lost a ball, and even when it happened, Lena always had your back. And in the next fifteen minutes, you did what you did best this season: assisted Bremer eight minutes before the end and qualified Wolfsburg for another final in their history, and more than that, because it will be against Barcelona.
Until then, you win the dfb-Pokal without surprise, and you place yourself as the second-best scorer of the season in the Bundesliga. At the end of the season, everyone's eyes were locked on one thing.
The day before the final, you were in your hotel room in Eindhoven talking with some teammates who had invited themselves into your room when you received a text from Ona.
======
Ona: good luck for tomorrow, Princesa. I come with Leila and Laia
You: you come to see me or the girls? 🤔
Ona: everyone
You: okay but I need to tell you that we will win tomorrow, so prepare the girls to comfort them
Ona: I don't come here to see my best friend lose
You: don't worry, you'll not
You: I need to go. the girls need me to annoy the older. see you tomorrow. I'll let you touch the trophy 😜
Ona: yeah sure 🙄
On D-Day, the pressure was at its highest level; the fans were expecting a victory, and you, the players, would do anything for that. In the changing rooms, everyone was tense after the lecture from your coach. You started your little routine before any big games to focus until you saw Lena beside you, totally nervous.
"Hey Lee, are you okay?" You asked after you gently paused your hand on her tight. She looked at your hand before locking her gaze on yours.
"I don't know. I mean, it's a big game, like, THE big game of the season." She said, and you chuckled. You found her very cute when she was stressed, but she didn't need to know that, at least not yet.
"Yes, but you played a big finale last summer, remember?" You asked.
"And I lost." She replied.
"Okay, that's not what I was expecting." You admitted; you sighed and gently cupped her face with your hands, forcing her to look at you. "Listen, I know it's a big game. I know how terrifying it is to face a team like that, but you're not alone. There's all the team to help you in the first half, and I'll be there in the second, whatever happens." You said quietly, and she chuckled, leaving you confused.
"I was more stressed about making your ex-teammates cry because we would crush them, but I think your little speech helped me too." She joked, and you rolled your eyes, even if that made you laugh too.
"Okay now, enter that pitch and show them what my knight in shining armor can do." You said, and all the girls cheered you up.
///////
"Good afternoon, everyone, I'm Dave, and I'll be your commentator for this final of the Champions League. I'm not alone; I'm with Selena, our consultant for this match. Good afternoon, how are you?"
"Pretty good, thanks, Dave. And yeah, we're here today for THE most important match of the season, one of the most equilibrated matches of this Champions League journey, at least on paper."
"Yes, on paper, the match would be beautiful to see, but we need to remind ourselves that FC Barcelona start this match with a little advantage. They were declared champions a few weeks before the end of the season, so they could rotate their squad and rest their players for this final."
"Of course, it will be a great advantage, but we saw how Wolfsburg can be really dangerous when we're not ready. I don't think Alexia and her teammates will take it easy; I think the defeat of the last year is still in everyone's memories."
"Talking about Alexia and her teammates, the players should enter the pitch in an instant now." The players started to walk out of the tunnel, and everyone was focused on one thing: the victory. You were on the bench watching your first team against your provisory team.
The anthem of the Champions League was playing on the speaker of the Phillips Stadion; the supporters started to be impatient, and you were more nervous.
"I will never get used to this tension just before the kickoff."
"I totally understand you; it never misses to give me goosebumps. I was watching the composition of the two teams, and I'm a little shocked to not see Y/n in the starting eleven. What do you think about it?"
"It's a surprise, but not as big as anyone thinks. We know that Tommy Stroot likes to use her as a super sub, and it's technically those types of matches where anything could happen that you need someone like her."
"Her big sister doesn't start either, but it's not really a surprise, so I think I'm talking for everyone when I say that we are really excited to see the both of them on the pitch. And now the kickoff."
—------------
Surprisingly, after the kickoff, the advantage was clearly for the German team.
"The Spanish seem to struggle to keep the ball out of their side of the pitch."
"Yes, but we know they can reverse this; we just need to—"
"Oh no, big mistake from Bronze. Pajor can shoot, and- she didn't miss! Wolfsburg take the lead with a missile from their Polish striker."
"I was saying that they can reverse, but this didn't go well, haha."
"It's not your fault; nobody can predict that Lucy Bronze would leave a little place for Pajor to shoot. But only after fifteen minutes, the teammates of Alexandra Popp can dream to lift the prestigious trophy."
—------
"—she's doing one of her best performances today, but– but right now the Catalans recuperate the ball! Graham Hansen is alone by her side. Oh, what a great move to push the ball in front of the goals; she can shoot—no, she passes, why she—"
After only fifteen minutes, everything needed to be redone.
"It's Patri!! After only fifteen minutes, ladies and gentlemen, Patri scored the equalizer!"
"That was the best way to finish this action, Dave. What a great goal and great performance from the Spaniard since the Germans took the lead! The solution didn't come from the strikers, so she just decided to take it into her own hands. 1-1, the real game starts now."
"You said it, Selena; she had the lucidity to stay away from any defender, and the finish is just amazing."
You and the girls were gutted; you didn't plan to win this game with a big goal difference, so any goal against you is barely a synonym of defeat. The real nightmare started only five minutes before halftime.
"A corner kick for Barcelona. It's shot very well, and—it's Rolfö! The Swedish give the advantage to the Spaniard only five minutes before halftime! What a goal!"
"Like you said, Dave, what a goal from Fridolina Rolfö. She used to score beautiful headers, and that's why corner kicks are one of the most dangerous weapons on this team. She just freed her from any defender and easily put it in the back of the net."
"You can see the joy erupting from Barcelona's bench; the supporters are uncontrollable, and it's totally understandable. The Swedish player may have just secured the victory with this goal."
In the next five minutes, your teammates pushed but failed to score against a visibly blessed Paños.
"And the referee blew the whistle; it's halftime, ladies and gentlemen. We will remind you of the score for the one who just joined. There is a 2-1 lead for Barcelona. Pajor scored the first goal of the game, but only fifteen minutes later, Patri equalized, and Rolfö gave them the advantage a few minutes ago."
///////
Back in the changing room at halftime, your teammates looked defeated, and after another lecture from your coach, the room was pretty quiet. The girls seemed to be trying to focus on the second half. Lena rested her head on your shoulder, and you intertwined your fingers with hers.
"Okay girls, you heard me out." Alexandra started to speak and gained everyone's attention. She gave a pretty encouraging speech. During this time, you were rubbing your thumb on the back of Lena's hand.
After the speech, when it was time to go, you unconsciously kissed the defender's hand and made her blush, but you were totally oblivious. "I believe in you; I know you'll be better in this half." You whispered to her, and she squeezed your hand.
///////
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. We're here for the second half of this final of the Champions League, opposing Barcelona to Wolfsburg, and the Spaniard took the lead just before halftime." The two teams were going back on the pitch with a little change in the Spaniard's side.
"We were just talking about her before during the halftime, and Jonatan seemed to have heard you." You were one of the last ones to come out of the tunnel, and you were a little surprised to hear the Barcelona fan chanting your sister’s name, but you were more surprised to see her ready to start the end of the match. "No, you’re not dreaming Alexia Putellas will play her first minutes in this campaign! Now the question is how Wolfsburg will react to this."
It was not surprising that the Spaniard took the advantage at the start of the second half, and things went worse when what everyone expected happened.
"Bonmati for a cross in the box, the defense struggles to kick the ball out. Alexia recuperates the ball; she places herself and aims, and—it's a goal! Barcelona is now leading by two goals!"
The joy erupted from the benches of the previous finalists. All the Spanish supporters were screaming; it was almost done. Almost because it was only the fiftieth minute, they had to conceive the score for forty minutes, and your coach was about to make his biggest move.
Your teammates were about to start the end of the game until the referee blew the whistle for a sub.
"Things are going to be more exciting now. The coach of Wolfsburg just made his super sub, Roord, let her place to Y/n." As a reminder of the start of this second half, all the German fans were chanting your name when you entered the field. You found your position beside your defensive midfielder, and the match started again.
"I have an interesting statistic for you, Dave. Wolfsburg only lost three games this season when they aligned their duo Lena-Y/n. And what is most incredible is that Y/n is a former offensive midfielder, but she didn't struggle to play a little lower on the pitch. She's very versatile."
Yeah, it's very incredible, but you know what is very unbelievable?"
"No what?"
Is it that since they became pro, the Putellas sisters have played more against each other than with each other."
"Wait what?"
"Yeah, Y/n played for Levante until the last season, but she played only four games with her big sister on the pitch in Barcelona."
"It's quite funny because when we saw them playing together, it was almost like they had done it all their lives."
"Yeah, but I see almost the same result this season between Lena and Y/n, like now."
You recovered the ball, dribbled Aitana, and passed to Lena before being stopped by Keira. The German gave it back to you just perfectly in front of the penalty, and that led to you shooting and hitting the crossbar.
"She was so close to scoring only after five minutes of her appearance in this match."
"I think Tommy Stroot made a great choice to sub her on now; like we said earlier, even if she played alongside Oberdorf, she's a former offensive midfielder, which means that she can contribute to the offensive task. But she also gives hope to the team and their supporters; I think it's important too."
A few minutes later, Lena recovered the ball pretty high on the pitch and gave it to Sveindis, who made an incredible run, followed by Rolfö, but managed to cross it in the box, where you pushed it into the net with a big header.
"Ooh, what a goal! Y/n just scored a beautiful header, reducing the gap between the two teams."
"I wanted to say that the defense was too chill, but her placement was just perfect. She was quicker than anyone on this action, and I think it's not too bad to say she's quicker than anyone since she's here. She scored a striker's goal."
After thanking the Icelander and hugging some teammates, you were ready for the rest of the game. The game was more tense. The Barcelona players pushed really hard, but you were almost suffocating all their actions with Lena. Talking about action, your team just got one after a great save from Frohms, who kicked the ball far away. You controlled it and looked around to find yourself almost alone on the right side of the pitch, which means if you want to find a way to be in a good position to shoot, you have to use your left foot.
Alexia knew that; she was the one who praised you when you became more skilled than her, and what helped you was your ability to use both feet almost perfectly. Patri otherwise seemed to forget that because she was surprised when she got nutmegged; Rolfö just behind her tried to surprise you, but she got crocheted. You were running to the box, and when Mapi came to stop you, you noticed Popp alone was not offside yet, so you just lobbed the defender, and your captain controlled it perfectly. And she didn't miss her 1v1 with Paños.
"And Alexandra Popp for the equalizer!"
"What beautiful action from Y/n. She totally danced with her ex-teammates; she reached another level in this final."
You wanted to apologize to Patri, but you were stopped by the tall body of your captain, who pulled you into a tight hug. You laughed when she let you go, but not before she messed up with your hair like she had loved to do since the start of the season.
"I think we can say that Y/n is literally the definition of a supersub. She's implied in the two goals that helped Wolfsburg come back in this match. And from her expression, we can think it's not finished yet."
The German fans were chanting your name like you had been in this club for a few seasons now. That made you blush, and you made a heart with your hand to show them your love before the next and hopefully last quarter of the match.
Your sister and her teammates were more nervous and reckless in the last minutes, maybe because of the stress that led to some ugly tackles, which almost made you feel nostalgic about your matches against Georgia Stanway.
"The fourth referee announced 5 minutes of extra time. If Wolfsburg continue like that, maybe they could win in overtime like against Arsenal."
Only five minutes of extra time, despite all the fouls, was a miracle. Barcelona's players were more aware of you, and sometimes you were almost never marked by only one player. But you found a little breach where you forced your passage, and you found yourself trying to keep the ball from your sister and Ingrid. You wanted to pass, but they blocked every angle, so you took some steps back and decided to do it quickly.
You easily erased your sister with a dribble on her wrong side, and the Norwegian received your fourth nutmeg of the match. You wanted to pass to Pajor when you felt something collide against your foot, and you fell to the ground.
"Ouch, it's a pretty bad tackle from Mapi Leon."
///////
You were on the ground with your ankle between your hands, trying to ease the pain, when you heard multiple voices arguing.
"Hey, are you crazy?" You recognized Poppi’s voice.
"I didn’t do that on purpose, okay?" Mapi replied.
Lena quickly came to you and tried to distract you while your sister tried not to let your captain hurt her best friend. "Hey, do you hear me?" she asked, and you nodded. "Okay, good. The medics should come in a few seconds. Do you think you can continue the match?"
"Yes, of course." You spoke through the pain, and she nodded. Like she said, the medics came a little after; it was not serious, but it was not a good move from your national teammate. After the approval of the medic, you prepare yourself for the free kick.
A foul in front of the box, not so far, a little on the right side. Svenja took the ball, placed it, and looked at the players in the penalty area. You were still beside her, lightly testing your foot.
///////
"It seems that Y/n and Svenja Huth are talking about who’ll shoot this free kick. It can be the last action of the match. Who should shoot it for you, Selena?"
"Oh, it’s a tough question. We know Svenja can find a teammate in this situation; she took all the free kicks like always, and she was good like always. But, even if the last time she took a free kick was in her time at Levante, Y/n have pretty good statistics on this exercise."
///////
You took two steps back and a step to the left, took a deep breath, and focused on the goal. The referee blew the whistle. Alexia met your gaze; she knew. Svenja raised her left hand to indicate the near post. She started to run but stopped herself in front of the ball. She just took a step to the right, and you made your way to shoot.
Your feet hit the ball, and you saw it fly toward the goal in the opposite upper corner.
///////
"Y/n took the free kick and—she scored! In the last minute of this final, Y/n gave the victory against her former club! It’s totally unbelievable!"
"You say it, Dave! I thought Svenja would shoot it, but she let the young Spaniard, and for her first free kick with the wolves, Y/n just scored a beautiful one! She perfectly hit the opposite corner; Sandra Paños didn’t see it coming. This final is incredible, and this player is incredible. And the referee just blew the end of the match."
"They did it! Wolfsburg are Champions again for the third time in their history!"
///////
All the bench ran to you; you couldn’t process what was happening until you felt yourself being tackled on the ground by Lena, quickly followed by the rest of the team. You did it; you won your first Champions League. The tears started to run down your cheeks, and you wrapped your arms around the defensive midfielder.
"We did it," she said to you, and you nodded. She brushed away your tears and discreetly kissed your cheek.
You wanted to celebrate more, but you noticed your national teammates’ faces. You went to console a lot of them when you spotted Fridolina and Ingrid with Mapi and Alexia. The ex-Wolfsburg players noticed you first and were the first to hug you and congratulate you.
"We told you it'd be a good team for you." The Swedish said, and some tears started to fill your eyes.
"Hey, don't cry. It's okay." The Norwegian said this time, and you just gave her a sob as a response. They broke the little group hug when Mapi came closer to you.
The defender was the next to catch you between her arms. "I'm sorry for earlier." She and you shook your head to let her know that you weren't angry about that. Congratulations, hermanita." she continued.
"Thank you," you replied shyly. The girls patted your shoulders and left to see the rest of the team. It was just you and your sister now. She was crying, of course, and that made you cry too. When she noticed your tears, she just opened her arms wide, and you filled the space.
"You did it," your sister said, and you nodded against her shoulder. "I'm proud of you." She pulled away to look at you. "I meant it; you were the best player today."
"I'm sorry." You said while you were crying, but the captain immediately shushed you and pulled you into another hug.
Hey, no, don't be sorry. It's okay; we lost, and it's frustrating, but you deserve it. Listen," she pulled away from the hug and pointing to the supporters around you. Even some of Barca’s fans were chanting your name. "You proved everyone that you’re more than my little sister; you start to create your own history." You wanted to say something, but you were required to do an interview.
After that, the final ceremony started. You were a little surprised to be the player of the match, but Lena kept saying that it couldn't be anyone except you. While you were talking with the midfielder, Alexandra was talking with your sister. Their conversation was a little interrupted when they saw you chase the German with a big smile.
"Do you think I need to say something?" the Spanish captain asked.
"Not yet," the tall captain replied, and your sister nodded.
This third June, despite what everyone thought before this final, you led the Germans to number one in Europe. Your dreams came true.

A fling? // Felicitas Rauch
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request.
"Hello gorgeous" you said smiling. Your hand placed the loose strand of hair which had fallen in front of her face behind her ear as you memorized every feature of her face. She looked beautiful.
Feli blushed under your gaze, shyly looking away while she tried to control her breathing. "So, aside from taking my breath away, what do you do for a living?" you asked with a cheesy grin covering your face. The defender rolled her eyes, playfully pushing you away yet her heart racing.
The moment you joined Wolfsburg, there was the massive attraction towards the brunette and you tried to ask her out with your famous pick up lines but she just brushed them off. You kept trying though.
"Stay." you told her sternly, grabbing her wrist as she was about to walk to her team mates, "I didn’t know what I wanted in a woman until I saw you."
Again with a roll of her eyes, she brushed you off like you were a nothing. Even If you didn‘t want to admit it, your heart stung. Every time, every ignorance of your presence, every brush off, you heart broke a bit more.
-
You let out a scream of pain as Laura Freigang tackled you, your body flying over the pitch before you landed in the grass. Your shoulder made a weird noice, knees scraping along the dirty pitch.
Feli was the first by your side, shoving Laura away who tried to apologize. Your face was hidden in the grass as you held your shoulder, tears streaming down your face.
"Can you sit up for me?" Felicitas asked, herself getting anxious because the medic took so long. With a grunt, you did as she wished, holding your shoulder with a death grip. For sure, it wasn‘t the thing you should do but it was out of reflex, you had to put pressure on the pain.
"My shoulder" you said through gritted teeth, "it cracked"
The brunettes face went pale, did you really just said cracked?!
When the medics arrived, the defender felt a kind of relief knowing you were in safe hands yet seeing your face scrunch in pain hurt her too. "She‘s going off, right?!" she asked, panic radiating in her voice. "What? No!" you interrupted her, "just tape it or something!" you told the medic, about to get up. "Stay the fuck down!" You had never heard the German curse or so scared. As she squatted down, you locked eyes, "you‘re crying, your shoulder hurts, you‘re getting subbed off. You will accept it, thank the medics and do as they told. Understood?" Your mouth fell agape, so bossy. Nodding in respond, you let the medic take you of the pitch as he talked about your injury and pain.
As you sat in the physio room, there was an ice pack on your shoulder to prevent further swelling and you were high on painkillers, babbling about something without someone in the room.
When the final whistle blew, Feli immediately left the field, searching for you. "How are you?" she asked as she saw your laying figure. Looking up to see the prettiest girl, you gave her a lopsided smile. "I’m coooool" you answered, the defender smiling lightly.
"Come here" you mumbled, "do you happen to have a Band-Aid? ‘Cause I scraped my knees falling for you." giggling at your pick up line, you didn‘t see the way her cheek caught fire and burnt red.
-
You were ruled out for a few weeks due your shoulder injury yet that didn‘t stop you from flirting with your favorite german player.
"I would never play hide and seek with you because someone like you is impossible to find."
"Hm" like usually, she rolled her eyes, walking past you.
Yet the soft smile that she sent you across the field later on, made your heart skip multiple beats. Maybe there was still a chance even if her answers grew short by every day that went by.
"Why don‘t you tell her that you like her?" Svenja asked the young woman who she had known for years.
"I don’t like her" she replied instantly.
"So how did you know who I was talking about?"
Caught in her own excuse, she smiles shyly before settling into a thoughtful expression, "she‘s- i don‘t know" Feli shrugged, eyes looking away from you as you walked in the facility.
"I don‘t think she wants the same thing I want"
"Why‘s that?" the blonde asked as they started to pass the ball, absently.
"You know the reputation she has, always flirting with everybody and sleeping around. I don‘t want to be a one night stand"
In the meantime while Svenja talked to Feli about you, Alexandra talked to you about Feli.
The Og-german players watched you dance around your feelings, Felicitas with her obvious ignorance and you with your flirty nature. They both knew there was something between the two of you, but not how both of you would realize it, so they made a plan - at least to get you on the right track and provide some clarity.
"So Feli, huh?" Alex asked, smirking. You blushed under her intense gaze, looking to the ground as you played with your fingers, "she‘s pretty amazing, yeah" you admitted, for the first time ever.
"So are you gonna ask her out?"
Looking up, you answered, "I did once but she just brushed me off, like always" you mumbled the last past yet still audible for Alex who had a pitty look on her face, "will you ask again?"
"Probably not. I flirt with her all the time only to be ignored in the end" you sighed, your fingers holding the bridge of your nose, "i don‘t get it. Sometimes she makes me think that she likes me too and then nothing"
"Can you blame her? You had quite the reputation before you came here"
You looked at Poppi with shook in your eyes and disgust on your face, "does she really think that? That she’s a fling?" you hated yourself for your behaviour in your past, you knew someday it will haunt you down - like it would now.
For the first time in years, you fell in love, actually in love, and the girl you liked thought bad of you, that you would use her.
"Did she reject me because of that?"
The older woman saw the hurt flash in your eyes - something she shouldn’t see.
"I don‘t know. I didn‘t even know that you asked her out. But i know you‘re not the person you used to be. You‘re a good person."
-
Felicitas noticed the change instantly, how you wouldn‘t flirt with her anymore, how you didn‘t greet her with a pick up line, how you barely talked to her. She didn‘t ask you about it, she just accepted it.
Svenja and Alex quickly realized that they worsened the relationship between the two of you rather than helping you to realize the feelings behind each others facades.
-
As you were able to play again, the champions league match against Arsenal was the perfect opportunity to show that you’re back better than ever. The first leg ended in a 2-2 draw yet it felt awesome to be back on the pitch again and when you scored Feli couldn‘t help the pride that washed over her body. She knew you waited long for the come back.
"Looking stunning as always" the blonde defender of Arsenal greeted you as she hugged you. Leah Williamson and you go way back, knowing each other since you were little and playing together in the national team. She was the sister you never had, the shoulder to cry on when ever you felt like it. "Not bad yourself" you joked, walking around together, arms around each others waist.
Feli hated the sight in front of her, the way you would smile at the skipper or laugh at something she said. She should be at your side instead of Leah.
"You good?" Svenja asked as she saw the growl on the brunettes face.
"Everything is perfectly fine" she answered, sarcasm laced in her voice as her eyes were still drained on your walking figure. "Back at her old habits, just great" she scowled, leaving the pitch without looking back. She didn‘t take pictures with fans nor signed anything, anger rushing through her veins.
"What‘s wrong with her?" Leah asked as she saw your favorite girl walking with quick steps away.
"Don‘t know. We‘re not talking at the moment" you muttered.
"What?! Why? I thought you liked her"
"I do. She just thinks I’m-"
"She thinks she‘s gonna be a fling, right?"
"Jup"
"You’re so stupid sometimes" she smacked the back of your head, "show her that she isn‘t"
"I tried!"
"Not hard enough apparently. 10£ she thinks you‘re flirting with me"
You looked at the skipper, confusion written over your face, what did she mean?
"Go" she pushed you away, towards the tunnel, giving you a reassuring nod, "seriously go!"
And you did. You ran after the brunette, calling her name. In the changing room, she sat in her cubby, head resting in her hands. "Felicitas" you said, voice low, you didn‘t want to startle her.
Feli loved the way her name rolled over your tongue. You had never called her Feli once, always Felicitas. You were the only one besides her parents who were allowed to do that. "So you‘re talking to me, wow" the defender grumbled, aggressively wiping away the few tears that left her eyes.
"Don‘t be mean"
"Mean?! You‘re the one who ignored me for weeks" she yelled as she stood up.
Matching her tone, "I know!" you sighed, "I know, okay?"
"You’re an idiot!" Felis anger was bubbling out of her, "you’re an idiot for making me fall for you!" she continued to ramble about your behavior how stupid you were for ignoring her, for making her feel worthless.
"I didn‘t talk to you because you thought you’re a fling to me! I didn‘t want you to think that"
"So you‘re flirting with Williamson? That’s low, even for you"
"Why the fuck are putting words in my mouth?" you were pacing around the changing room, Feli following every movement of yours, "you- bloody hell, Felicitas! Why are you making this so hard?"
"I‘m making this hard?! You‘re the one-"
"Stop it right now. I didn‘t flirt with Leah, gosh ew. We‘ve known each other since god knows when. And I didn‘t flirt with anyone besides you since I’m at Wolfsburg. Hell, you’re the only one I want to flirt with. You’re the only who I want to think that I’m a good person - not the person from my past. Felicitas, you‘re that one person to me!" You sat down, not meeting her eyes as you tried to control your emotions and your outburst.
The moment you arrived in Germany, you wanted to change. You transferred clubs to get a new chance, to prove everyone wrong. You didn‘t mean to fall in love with someone, you didn’t mean to flirt with her like in your old patterns but you couldn’t help it. With Feli everything felt different. Everything felt easy, you felt at peace. Wolfsburg felt like a new home. She felt like home.
"You‘re in love with me, too? It‘s not some weird-"
"Of course I am!" you interrupted her, making your statement clear. "How can I show you that I mean it? That I mean everything when I’m with you?" you asked with pleading eyes, eyes full of hope and regret.
"Take me out on a date" even after yelling, crying and running for more than 90 minutes, she looked absolutely breathtaking. It was a good thing that you were sitting otherwise you‘re knees would‘ve betrayed you.
"Deal"
In that moment, you promised yourself to treat her better than anyone could.
-
It didn‘t take Feli long to realize that you meant what you said that day in the locker room. The few little dates you had were more than perfect, you treated Felicitas like you promised and the way she deserved. Both of you seemed happier with each other and at Champions league final -1, you asked her to be your girlfriend.
Your heart fluttered every time you thought about the answer, "yes"
Maybe your past wasn‘t the greatest but the universe did give you another chance which you gladly accepted.
You showed the world that you deserved it.
You showed football fans all of your talent, getting nominated for the Ballon d‘or.
You showed your family and friends the vulnerable, caring and loving side of yourself.
And you showed Felicitas that she did the right thing with saying yes to be your girlfriend.
Felicitas was the one person that changed you for the better and you will thank and love her forever because of everything and more.
She was always more than just a fling.
